WATER TREATMENT PLANT
A water treatment plant, having at least one storage container for storing water to be treated, an evaporator for evaporating the water to be treated, a condenser for condensing the water evaporated in the evaporator, the condenser being fed on the cooling water side with water to be treated, which is flowing to the evaporator. The storage container is arranged above the evaporator, and the condenser is arranged at the level of the base of the evaporator, the storage container being closable in an airtight manner and opening with an outlet into an overflow pot, the surface height of which is arranged slightly below a vapor outlet of the evaporator. The overflow pot is connected to the cooling water inlet of the condenser. A cooling water outlet of the condenser is connected to an inlet of the evaporator.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LOW-BIURET UREA
A process for purify ing a urea-containing aqueous stream, such as the aqueous stream from the recovery section of a urea plant. comprising a step of removing biuret from the urea-containing stream by reverse osmosis in one or more reverse osmosis stages.
PLANT FOR DEALCOHOLISING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
A plant for dealcoholising alcoholic beverages includes a rectification column having at least one inlet for the alcoholic beverage, a sump and a top. The rectification column is operable such that dealcoholised beverage can be removed from the sump and exhaust vapour can be removed from the top. At least one evaporator is configured to supply the rectification column with vapour. A condenser arrangement condenses the exhaust vapour removed from the top of the rectification column, at least in part. The plant further includes a heat pump which can operate the evaporator as well as the condenser arrangement. A method for dealcoholising alcoholic beverages in a rectification column is also disclosed.
System for producing fresh water and electricity using cold ocean water in combination with wind power
A system for producing potable water and electrical power utilizing the difference in temperature between ambient air and deep, cold ocean water is disclosed. Cold water from depths of 2000 feet (610 meters) or more is pumped to a liquid/gas heat exchanger in the upper portion of a hollow cylinder. Ambient air currents are concentrated and diverted into the exchanger, becoming cooler and denser. Moisture condensing from the ambient air onto the cool surface of the heat exchanger is collected and channeled to storage or piped to shore. The air gains velocity before reaching a wind turbine near the bottom of the cylinder. This turbine is connected to a generator to extract the wind energy. This extracted energy is converted to electricity by the generator and sent to shore.
ALKYLATION SYSTEM AND A PROCESS FOR COOLING A VENT STREAM
One exemplary embodiment can be a process for cooling a vent stream from a receiver. Generally, the process may include providing a refrigerant including at least one compound contained in the receiver so the refrigerant leaking into the receiver can be compatible with the process.
Method and apparatus for passing a mixed vapour and liquid stream and method of cooling a hydrocarbon stream
In a method and apparatus for passing a mixed vapour and liquid stream between a first heat exchanger (101) and a second heat exchanger (102) the mixed vapour and liquid stream outflows from the first heat exchanger (101) through two or more outlets (104). Then, the mixed vapour and liquid stream in the outlets (104) passes through two or more intermediate conduits (103) to the second heat exchanger (102), after which the mixed vapour and liquid stream inflows from the intermediate conduits (103) into the second heat exchanger (102) through two or more inlets (105). The number (X) of outlets (104) is equal to or greater than the number (Y) of inlets (105).
Carbon dioxide recovery device
A carbon dioxide recovery device provided with a separation device that separates carbon dioxide from to-be-separated gas (for example, combustion exhaust gas) containing carbon dioxide, wherein: in order from the upstream side where the to-be-separated gas is supplied, the separation device and carbon dioxide sublimators, which sublimate (solidify) carbon dioxide that was separated in the separation device, are connected in series, refrigerant circuits in which a fluid having cold heat serves as the refrigerant, are connected to the carbon dioxide sublimators, and the refrigerant is used to sublimate (solidify) the carbon dioxide; and when the carbon dioxide is sublimated (solidified), the carbon dioxide sublimators are depressurized and set to negative pressure so as to draw in the carbon dioxide separated at the separation device.
Method for controlling desalination system
A desalination system and method for controlling the desalination system include thin-filmed photocatalyst coated glass tubes which perform a photocatalytic cleaning reaction to remove contaminants. A first flow control valve directs the contaminant-free feed water either to a feed water heater for pre-heating or to a geothermal energy-based heat exchanger. A second flow control valve directs a first portion of the pre-heated contaminant-free feed water to a thermal energy storage tank and a second portion to a flash chamber for steam generation. A condenser connected to the flash chamber includes a nano-fluid cooling coil that condenses steam into potable water.
