A recirculating high pressure lipid extractor includes a kettle with a sealed interior configured for pressurizing and heating a fluid mixture. A flow funnel is positioned in a lower portion. A removable material basket is positioned on top of the flow funnel in an upper section. The removable material basket is configured to hold a material inside the removable material basket. A drain and inlet port is at a bottom of the kettle in communication with the sealed interior of the kettle. A recirculation port is approximate a top of the kettle in communication with the sealed interior of the kettle. Wherein, when the fluid mixture is inserted into the kettle, the recirculating high pressure lipid extractor is configured to pressurize and heat the fluid mixture and recirculate the pressurized and heated fluid mixture from the recirculation port into the drain and inlet port.

APPARATUS FOR EXTRACTING PLANT COMPOUNDS AND RELATED METHOD

Extraction devices and related methods are disclosed. Extraction devices disclosed may include a hopper, a piston, and an evaporation chamber. The hopper may be filled with a plant material and a solvent. The piston may be removably housed within the hopper so as to form a hermetic seal with the hopper. Once a solvent and extract mixture is formed within the hopper, a valve in the bottom of the hopper may be opened to allow the solvent and extract mixture to flow into the evaporation chamber via gravity. The remaining plant material may be compressed by the piston to remove any remaining solvent and extract mixture. The solvent may be evaporated in the evaporation chamber leaving a purified plant extract. Various types of plant materials may be used within the hopper. Various types of solvents may be used as well, including heptane and hexane.

The present invention discloses an apparatus for effective and efficient extraction of resin from plant materials. The apparatus includes at least an agitator and a tank. The tank is a square tank and is made of one piece of plastic that is sloped and folded (V-shaped) at the bottom. The agitator includes a single impellor or pulsator having two sides. The pulsator creates fluid currents in an upwards and downwards direction. Top portion pushes fluid up and bottom portion pushes fluid down. As a result of agitation, trichomes get separated and pass-through openings of the false bottom surface and are collected on the V-shaped bottom surface. This collection of the trichomes on the V-shaped bottom surface ensures that the trichomes do not move or go upward. The false bottom surface ensures that the trichomes are not getting hit by the agitator again post their collection on the V-shaped bottom surface.

One embodiment places organic material into an extraction chamber that is a cylindrical wall of rigid material, wherein a diameter and a height of the extraction chamber is sized to define an interior that accommodates a desired amount of an organic material having essential oils; fills the extraction chamber with a solvent after the organic matter has been placed into the extraction chamber; and moves a vortex plunger disposed over the surface of the organic material in a repeated upward and downward motion during an agitation process so that the vortex vanes generate a fluid vortex in the solvent, wherein the fluid vortex causes the solvent to be drawn upward into the organic material and then to be pushed downward through the organic material so that the solvent extracts essential oils from the organic material.
