Process for the extraction of silica

Disclosed is a process for the extraction of silica from lignocellulosic plant matter, including the steps of: a) fractionating the lignocellulosic plant matter in the presence of an acid solution, so as to obtain a solid fraction including cellulose; b) extracting the silica from the solid fraction obtained in step a) with a basic solution, at a pH between 10 and 13 and at a temperature between 70° C. and 90° C., so as to obtain a liquid phase including silica and a solid phase; c) separating the liquid phase and of the solid phase which are obtained in step b); and d) precipitating the silica which is included in the liquid phase, at a pH between 5 and 6.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING ESSENTIAL OILS
20170266584 · 2017-09-21 ·

A system and method of extracting essential oils from plant material through the use of a low pressure alcohol-based closed system that includes a solvent chamber connected to a material column that in turn is connected to a recovery chamber. Plant material in the material column and the solvent in the solvent chamber are cooled using a cooling liquid, such as nitrogen. A vacuum pump connected to the recovery chamber creates a vacuum in the recovery chamber to draw the cooled solvent through the cooled plant material and extract essential oils, which are collected in the recovery chamber.

Process to remove asphaltene from heavy oil by solvent

Embodiments of the disclosure produce a method and system for deasphalting a hydrocarbon feed. The hydrocarbon feed and a first solvent is combined using a Taylor-Couette mixer to form a mixed stream. The mixed stream and a second solvent are introduced to an extractor to produce a first deasphalted oil stream and a pitch stream. The first deasphalted oil stream is introduced to a solvent recovery unit to recover the first solvent and the second solvent via a recovered solvent stream and to produce a second deasphalted oil stream.

METHOD OF SELECTIVE EXTRACTION OF PLATINOIDS, FROM A SUPPORT CONTAINING SAME, WITH AN EXTRACTION MEDIUM CONSISTING OF A SUPERCRITICAL FLUID AND AN ORGANIC LIGAND

Method of selective extraction of a metal of the family of platinoids, from a ceramic support containing said metal, comprising the following successive steps: a) said ceramic support containing said metal is brought into contact, in an extraction chamber, with an extraction medium consisting of a pressurized dense fluid containing an organic ligand that is selective for the metal and that is capable of forming a complex with said metal in the 0 state; whereby are obtained, on the one hand, a ceramic support depleted in said metal, or even free of said metal, and, on the other hand, a medium consisting of the pressurized dense fluid containing the complex of the organic ligand with the metal in the 0 state; b) said pressurized dense fluid containing the complex of the organic ligand with the metal in the 0 state is brought back to atmospheric pressure and to ambient temperature, whereby the complex of the organic ligand with the metal in the 0 state separates from the fluid; c) the ceramic support depleted in said metal, or even free of said metal, and the complex of the organic ligand with the metal in the 0 state, are recovered.

METHOD OF PREPARING HOVENIA DULCIS THUNB EXTRACT RICH IN DIHYDROMYRICETIN

A method for preparing a Hovenia dulcis Thunb extract rich in dihydromyricetin includes the following steps: (1) crushing Hovenia dulcis Thunb seeds to obtain a Hovenia dulcis Thunb powder; (2) adding a 10-95% ethanol solution in an amount of 3-15 times of an amount of the Hovenia dulcis Thunb powder, stirring and extracting at 20° C-80° C. twice; (3) filtering to obtain an extract solution; (4) concentrating the extract solution by evaporating ethanol under reduced pressure to obtain a crude extract, the crude extract having a solid content of 10%-40%; (5) placing the crude extract at −20° C. to 8° C. for 0.5 to 12 hours; (6) centrifuging the crude extract to obtain a supernatant; and (7) spray-drying the supernatant to obtain the Hovenia dulcis Thunb extract.

This invention relates to the extraction of psychoactive compounds from organisms for use in medicine. Extraction is carried out with a strong acid or strong base to either promote or inhibit dephosphorylation. The extract in the slurry form is standardized with added excipient so that when it is dried the powdered composition has a specified total psychoactive alkaloid concentration, with a known ratio of phosphorylated to dephosphorylated psychoactive alkaloids.
