Apparatus for hydrocarbon removal
A hydrocarbon removal apparatus includes a plurality of fibers and a backing substrate. Each of the plurality of fibers includes a proximal end and a distal end. Each proximal end is secured to the backing substrate.
MEDIA, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR WASTEWATER REGENERATION
A filtration device selectively removes hydrophobic waste from wastewater while leaving other water and surfactant components, which may then be recycled to a point of use. The wastewater treatment system may comprise a filtration unit and filtration media. The filtration unit may comprise a housing having an inlet in fluid communication with an outlet of a point of use and configured to receive a wastewater stream from the point of use for treatment, and an outlet in fluid communication with an inlet of the point of use and configured to deliver filtrate to the point of use. The filtration media may be positioned within the housing. The filtration media may comprise an oleophilic foam substrate and a hydrophobic coating on the oleophilic foam substrate. The filtration media may be configured to separate a hydrophobic component from the wastewater stream to produce filtrate comprising water and surfactant.
Integrated desiccant-based cooling and dehumidification
Integrated systems comprising both i) heat and mass exchange systems and ii) electrolysis stacks are disclosed, together with related methods of use. The disclosed systems cool and/or dehumidify air using two streams of salt solutions as liquid desiccants.
Cleaning Module, Filter Element and Filter System
A cleaning module (10) for cleaning a media flow of a first medium contaminated with a second medium that has a housing (12) having an inlet (18) and an outlet (20, 21) and a replaceable filter element (30) arranged within the housing (12). In this arrangement, a flow direction (32) of the media flow is directed through the filter element (30) in the specified installed state against the force of gravity. The filter element (30) has an absorptive and/or adsorptive material (34) for picking up at least a portion of the second medium in the first medium. A filter element for the cleaning module (10) and a filter system (100) having the cleaning module (10) are disclosed.
Fine Particulate Compositions Comprising Non-Composted Coconut Coir Pith and Process for Their Preparation
A method for processing raw coconut coir pith into fine particles and the use of such fine particles directly or in formulated form in agricultural, industrial and commercial applications.
Filtering Pump System
In certain embodiments, a system filter has a hollow, perforated, inner structure inside a hollow, perforated, outer structure that define an annular gap that receives granular filtering media retained by an (optional) media liner. An outer filter surrounds the outer structure. An (electric) pump may be located within the inner cavity of the inner structure or external to the system filter. When deployed in an underground vault, vault water flows through the outer filter, the outer structure, the outer portion of the media liner (if present), the filtering media, the inner portion of the media liner (if present), and the inner structure into the inner cavity from where the pump moves the filtered water out of the vault. The outer filter and/or the media liner may have a lipophobic, hydrophilic material that allows water to pass while blocking lipids without having the lipids adhere to the material.
SEPARATION OF OIL-WATER MIXTURES USING NANOTECHNOLOGY
Methods for making a plurality of nanoparticles are provided. The method may include flowing a first component of the core into a reaction chamber; flowing a polymeric material into the reaction chamber; and flowing a second component of the core into the reaction chamber such that the first component reacts with the second component to form a core. The polymeric material forms a polymeric shell around the core.
Process for manufacturing and using a molded body with a superhydrophobic surface
A method for producing a molded body includes providing a composite including a first plate having a polymer film pressed into its surface, providing a third plate including roughened areas on at least part of one of its surfaces, placing the third plate opposite the polymer film without the third plate touching the composite, heating the third plate to a temperature above the glass transition temperature Tg of the polymer of the polymer film without heating the composite and without the heated third plate coming into contact with the surface of the polymer film, and structuring the surface of the polymer film facing the third plate by a relative movement which removes the third plate from the first plate while the polymer film remains soft and is thus extended lengthwise, thereby forming a modified composite that comprises the molded body.
Non-point pollutant source treatment apparatus
Provided is a non-point pollutant source treatment apparatus. The non-point pollutant source treatment apparatus includes an inlet pipe for allowing initial polluted rain (raw) water to flow therethrough, a settling tank coupled to the inlet pipe and storing raw water flowing from the inlet pipe, a drain part disposed at one side of an inside of the settling tank directly under the inlet pipe, and coupled to a drain pipe so as to discharge raw water contained in the settling tank into the outlet pipe, a purifying member disposed at the other side of the settling tank and including purifying plates with inlet holes, a filtering part coupled to an upper portion of the settling tank and filtering foreign substances from raw water, and a backwashing tank coupled to an upper portion of the filtering part and including a purified water pipe.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF FATS, OIL AND GREASE
An apparatus for collection and disposal of fats, oil and grease that includes a fabric container having at least one open end, a biogradable material capable of absorbing a large quantity of fats, oil and grease positioned in the container through the open end, the container and biogradable material adapted for being placed in a source of fats, oil and/or grease for absorbing the fats, oil and/or grease for removal from the source and for transport to a location for processing.
