Methods for of processing an oxygen containing feedstock to an amine reacted liquid or solid phase with a different solubility, polarity and/or functionality may, in various embodiments, comprise steps of contacting the amine with an oxygen containing hydrocarbon with temperature to facilitate reactions to reduce the oxygen content and modulate the solubility, polarity and/or functionality of the products.

Method to separate an emulsion in a liquid lens

Embodiments generally relate to systems and methods for separating an emulsion in a cavity of a device such as a liquid lens device. In one embodiment, the method comprises at least one of: applying a bias voltage to electrodes in the device, causing at least one of droplet migration, flattening of large droplets, and reduced droplet surface tension; applying an oscillating actuation voltage waveform comprising an actuation frequency to the electrodes, such that fluid pumping and turbulence is created within the device cavity; and applying an oscillating excitation voltage waveform comprising an excitation frequency to the electrodes, such that the varying electric field created by the oscillating voltage causes small droplets of the first liquid to coalesce.

A method of producing biodiesel using a conduit contactor in fluid communication with a collection vessel includes: introducing a first stream including an alcohol proximate a plurality of fibers positioned within the conduit contactor and extending proximate to the collection vessel; introducing a second stream including an oil into the conduit contactor proximate to the plurality of fibers, wherein the second stream is in contact with the first stream; reacting the oil and the alcohol to for a single phase; receiving the single phase in the collection vessel; and separating biodiesel from the single phase.

FUEL FILTER PASSAGE FOR DOWNWARD FUEL FLOW DIRECTION

A center tube and a central fluid supply tube combination includes a center tube body defining a longitudinal length, and a central reservoir. The center tube also includes an apertured annular wall extending axially the majority of the longitudinal length, and a first annular solid wall extending axially from the apertured annular wall. A central fluid supply tube is disposed in the central reservoir, and includes a second annular solid wall that is radially surrounded by the apertured annular wall of the center tube. The second annular solid wall defines a supply passage with a fully circular flow flux.

Supramolecular Host Guest Product Concentrators For Production Fluids

A method may include: introducing a treatment fluid into a production fluid disposed in a surface well system, the treatment fluid comprising: a base fluid; and a supramolecular host guest product comprising: a treatment fluid additive comprising a surfactant; and a supramolecular host molecule, wherein the supramolecular host molecule is not covalently bonded to the treatment fluid additive; introducing the production fluid containing the treatment fluid into a production facility separator; and separating, in the production facility separator, at least a portion of the production fluid to form a water stream.

Methods of recycling oil from a direct phase emulsion

A method of recycling a direct emulsion wellbore fluid may include disrupting a direct emulsion comprising an aqueous external phase and an oleaginous internal phase, wherein the direct emulsion is stabilized by a surfactant composition; and separating the aqueous phase and the oleaginous phase.

PERFORATED LAYER COALESCER

This disclosure generally relates to perforated filter media and coalescing filter elements utilizing perforated filter media. One example coalescing filter element is structured to separate a dispersed phase from a continuous phase of a mixture. The filter media includes a first coalescing layer. The first coalescing layer includes a first filter media. The first filter media has a plurality of pores and a first perforation. Each of the plurality of pores is smaller than the first perforation. The first perforation is formed in the first filter media and extends through the first filter media. The plurality of pores are structured to capture a portion of the dispersed phase. The first perforation is structured to facilitate the transmission of coalesced drops of the dispersed phase through the first coalescing layer such that the coalesced drops of the dispersed phase are separated from the portion of the dispersed phase captured in the first coalescing layer.
