ELECTROMAGNETIC TURBINE AND FLUID RECIRCULATION SYSTEM
An electromagnetic turbine system includes a circulation system for recirculating fluid that drives turbine impellers for electromagnetic turbine modules. The circulation system includes a fluid separator module which separates gas from liquid and circulates the liquid back to a pressure chamber. The liquid in the pressure chamber is propel by compressed gas. Multiple pressure chambers may be controlled to release pressurized fluid to drive their respective shafts on a staggered timing sequence. The turbine modules may be levitated from a supporting surface to reduce friction.
Apparatus, system and method for performing automated centrifugal separation
Systems, methods and devices are provided for the automated centrifugal processing of samples. In some embodiments, an integrated fluidic processing cartridge is provided, in which a centrifugation chamber is fluidically interfaced, through a lateral surface thereof, with a microfluidic device, and wherein the integrated fluidic processing cartridge is configured to be inserted into a centrifuge for centrifugation. A cartridge interfacing assembly may be employed to interface with the integrated fluidic processing cartridge for performing various fluidic processing steps, such as controlling the flow of fluids into and out of the centrifugation chamber, and controlling the flow of fluids into the microfluidic device, and optionally for the further fluidic processing of fluids extracted to the microfluidic device. The integrated fluidic processing cartridge may include a supernatant chamber the extraction of a supernatant thereto, and a diluent chamber for diluting a suspension collected in the centrifugation chamber.
Reverse flow gas separator
A reverse flow gas separator having a housing having a housing intake and a first void space within the housing. The reverse flow gas separator further includes a driveshaft disposed adjacent to the first void space. The drive shaft is hollow and comprises a second void space disposed within the interior of the drive shaft. The second void space is continuous from a driveshaft intake to an opening in a terminal end of the driveshaft.
Impeller rotor configured with wear resistant seal land
An assembly is provided for a turbine engine. This turbine engine assembly includes an impeller rotor, a seal land and a lip seal. The impeller rotor is configured to rotate about a rotational axis. The impeller rotor is configured from or otherwise includes impeller rotor material. The seal land extends axially along and circumferentially about the rotational axis. The seal land is mechanically attached to and rotatable with the impeller rotor. The seal land is configured from or otherwise includes seal land material that is different than the impeller rotor material. The lip seal radially engages the seal land.
Two-phase separator device for removing condensate or particulate from a gas stream
This disclosure provides a two-phase separator device for separating condensate or particulate from a gas stream. In some implementations, the separator device removes water from air and may operate under micro-gravity conditions. The gas stream flows through the two-phase separator device and passes through a rotatable vane assembly along a flow path without being redirected in another flow path. Condensate or particulate in the gas stream is impacted by a plurality of vanes of the rotatable vane assembly, and the condensate is captured by features formed within the plurality of vanes. The captured condensate is accelerated radially outwardly along the each of the plurality of vanes towards a sloped inner wall, and further moved along the sloped inner wall in a direction against the flow path of the gas stream during rotation.
ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR DEGASSING A PUMP
An arrangement and a method for controlling a gas flow separated from a suspension of medium consistency pulp. The pulp is treated in a pulp treatment apparatus including a first pump and a second pump, wherein the second pump is a degassing centrifugal pump provided with a degassing system including a degassing conduit in which a degassing valve is arranged for regulating a pressure difference between an inlet of the second pump and the degassing conduit. The degassing system further includes a pressurized degassing vessel working under overpressure and having an inlet and an outlet, wherein the outlet of the vessel is connected to a pressure control valve for maintaining a desired overpressure in the vessel.
Agitation/defoaming apparatus and method and rotary motion transmission device
An agitation/defoaming device is provided, which can independently control revolving and rotational motion and can change a rotational direction relative to a revolving direction without a two-system rotary drive. The apparatus includes a rotary driving source, a braking device for rotary motions; first and second rotors revolved around revolving shaft, and first and second rotational bodies and container holders pivotally supported by the first rotor. A braking force is applied to the second rotor revolving along with the first rotor, generating a rotational motion, which is transmitted to either the first or second rotational body according to the revolving direction of the first rotor. The rotational motion is then transmitted from the first or second rotational body to the container holder through the first rotational body, thereby transmitting to the object the rotational motion according to the revolving direction while revolving the object.
CENTRIFUGAL DE-AERATOR FOR AIRCRAFT ENGINE
A de-aerator for a lubrication system, has: a housing defining an air-oil inlet, an oil outlet, and an air outlet of the de-aerator; a rotor received within the housing and rotatable relative to the housing about a central axis, the rotor having blades distributed about the central axis and extending at least partially radially relative to the central axis, flow passages extending between the blades, the rotor having a hub circumferentially extending around the central axis and around the blades, the hub having a peripheral wall oriented radially inwardly and defining a fore opening leading to the flow passages; and a gap between the housing and the hub of the rotor, a portion of the housing received within the fore opening and axially overlapping the peripheral wall of the hub, the gap having a fore gap inlet between the portion of the housing and the peripheral wall of the hub.
