Method and Apparatus for Fluid Separation
A method and apparatus are disclosed for separating a multiphase fluid stream that includes a heavier fluid component and a lighter fluid component. The fluid flows along a first helical flowpath with a first pitch. The first helical flowpath is sufficiently long to establish a stabilised rotating fluid flow pattern for the stream. The uniform rotating fluid also flows along a second helical flowpath, the second helical flowpath having a second pitch greater than the first pitch. The lighter fluid is removed from a radially inner region of the second helical flowpath. The method and apparatus are particularly suitable for the separation of oil droplets from water, especially from water for reinjection into a subterranean formation as part of an oil and gas production operation. The method and apparatus are conveniently applied on a modular basis.
Surface fluid extraction and separator system
A disclosed example embodiment of a fluid extraction system includes a fluid circuit fluidly coupled to a source of a fluid and configured to receive a fluid sample from the source, and a fluid separator arranged in the fluid circuit and configured to receive the fluid sample. The fluid separator includes a body that defines at least one fluid inlet, a flow chamber defined within the body, and is configured to receive and spin the fluid sample from the at least one fluid inlet. The fluid sample spirals inward and forms a vortex, and gases entrained within the fluid sample separate and migrate toward a center of the vortex. An outlet defined in the flow chamber provides a gas outlet that entrains and removes the gases and a liquid outlet receives and removes a remaining portion of the fluid sample.
GAS-LIQUID SEPARATOR
A gas-liquid separator includes a housing, an inlet in the housing, a flow passage which is in communication with the inlet and through which a water-containing gas supplied through the inlet flows in a vertical direction, a gas-flow director configured to change a flow direction of the water-containing gas flowing through the flow passage from the vertical direction to the horizontal direction, and a gas-liquid separating portion configured to bring the water-containing gas, supplied from the gas-flow director into the housing, into contact with a plurality of separation blades in sequence to separate water from the water-containing gas.
Gas production method using water as the source
A system and method are provided in at least one embodiment to process water to produce gas that can be separated into at least two gas flows using a water treatment system having a disk-pack rotating in it to cause out gassing from the water. In a further embodiment, the method and system use the gas released from the water to produce substantially fresh water from the processed salt water.
Coalescing media for hydronic air and sediment separation device
A coalescing removal separator includes a separator tank having a separator input configured to receive a fluid flowing through a system having entrained gasses and solid particles, having a tank wall configured to form a volume/chamber inside the separator tank to process the fluid, and having a separator output configured to provide processed fluid that is free of at least some of the entrained gasses and solid particles; and a coalescing media arranged in the volume/chamber of the separator tank, the coalescing media having at least one helically wound brush with a stem and intertwined bristles substantially filling the volume/chamber of the separator tank and being configured to enable the at least some of the entrained gasses and solid particles to come out of the fluid.
NOZZLE FOR GAS CHOKING
A nozzle for controlling the flow of a gas component of a fluid produced from a hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir, the fluid comprising oil and gas, comprises a fluid passage extending between an inlet and an outlet, wherein the fluid passage comprises a constriction for choking the flow of the gas component of the fluid.
Disk-pack turbine
A system and method are provided in at least one embodiment to process water to produce gas that can be separated into at least two gas flows using a water treatment system having a disk-pack rotating in it to cause out gassing from the water. In a further embodiment, the method and system use the gas released from the water to produce substantially fresh water from the processed salt water.
SEPARATOR SYSTEM AND METHOD
A separator system and method may provide a four-way separator that may separate a material and remove a hazardous material. The hazardous material may include gas and sand that may he removed by the four-way separator. The separator system and method may further provide a main unit that may include three chambers or recirculation hoppers, an auger sand extractor, and a strap tank. The separator system and method may provide a faster rig-up time and may be exclusively driven by hydraulics.
Water dissociation system
A system and method are provided in at least one embodiment to process water to produce gas that can be separated into at least two gas flows using a water treatment system having a disk-pack rotating in it to cause out gassing from the water. In a further embodiment, the method and system use the gas released from the water to produce substantially fresh water from the processed salt water.
Liquid-gas separator
A method and system for separating a flow of matter is shown and described. The system includes one or more flow separation devices, one or more surgical instruments, and one or more suction sources. In some embodiments, the flow of matter comprises biological material. In some embodiments, the flow of matter comprises surgical waste.
