METHOD OF CYCLONIC SEPARATION OF A FLOW OF MULTI-PHASE FLUID
A method of separating a flow of multi-phase fluid includes directing the flow through the inlet opening of an enclosed tubular body comprising a tubular sidewall with opposed end walls, one or more axial outlet apertures formed through the end walls, and one or more radial outlet apertures formed through the tubular sidewall at locations spaced from the inlet opening. The method also includes directing the flow of multi-phase fluid onto one or more swirl plates positioned between the inlet opening and the outlet apertures, with the swirl plates having angled surfaces configured to impart a cyclonic motion to the flow so as to initiate separation of the constituents of the multi-phase. The method further includes directing the gas constituent axially outward through the axial outlet aperture and directing the oil constituent and the water constituent radially outward from the tubular body through the one or more radial outlet apertures.
A METHOD FOR PROCESSING A 3D SCENE, AND CORRESPONDING DEVICE, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER PROGRAM
A method for processing a 3D scene, and corresponding device, system and computer program are disclosed. In an example embodiment, the disclosed method includes: obtaining an image comprising at least a nadir view of a 3D scene, captured by at least one camera; detecting, in the image, at least one shadow cast by at least one object of the 3D scene acting as a support for the at least one camera; and determining a direction of at least one real light source from the at least one detected shadow and at least information representative of the object.
Systems and methods for enhanced inorganic contaminant removal from hydrocarbon feedstock
Systems and methods to enhance the removal of inorganic contaminants, including metals, from hydrocarbon feedstocks at a refinery. One or more embodiments of such systems and methods may be used to provide a renewable hydrocarbon feedstock having a reduced amount of metal contaminants. The reduction of metal contaminants in the renewable hydrocarbon feedstock mitigates catalyst fouling and/or deactivation during downstream refinery processing of the renewable hydrocarbon feedstock.
GRAVITY SEPARATION OF SLURRIES
Processes of thickening slurries such as from metal and non-metal based ore processes are disclosed. The processes include treating a feed slurry in a thickener apparatus with an indifferent salt in sufficient quantity to increase efficiency of solids-liquid separation as compared to a feed slurry in the thickener apparatus without the added indifferent salt.
Dual chamber horizontal vessel
The present disclosure relates to a device for removing particulates, such as sand, from a fluid at an oil and/or gas wellsite. In one aspect, a vessel for separating particulates from a fluid is provided. The vessel includes a body having an inlet and an outlet. The vessel also includes a first chamber and a second chamber disposed in the body. The vessel further includes a screen configured to separate particulates from the fluid. The screen is disposed in the second chamber. Additionally, the vessel includes a vessel door for inserting and removing the screen from the second chamber. In another aspect, a pressure vessel for separating particulates from a fluid is provided. In yet a further aspect, a method of separating particulates from a fluid is provided.
Particle settling devices
Settling devices for separating particles from a bulk fluid with applications in numerous fields. The particle settling devices include a first stack of cones with a small opening oriented upwardly or downwardly. Optionally, the settling devices may include a second stack of cones with a small opening oriented downwardly or upwardly. The cones may be concave or convex. These devices are useful for separating small (millimeter or micron sized) particles from a bulk fluid with applications in numerous fields, such as biological (microbial, mammalian, plant, insect or algal) cell cultures, solid catalyst particle separation from a liquid or gas and waste water treatment.
Method and arrangement for controlling a dewatering process
An arrangement and a method for controlling a dewatering process including measuring values representing operating parameters of the gravitational sedimentation device and using the values as input values for a predictive multivariable model for predicting an operating state of the gravitational sedimentation device. The disclosure further relates to obtaining reference values for the operating parameters, determining at least one predicted output for an operating parameter of the gravitational sedimentation device, and comparing the predicted output to at the reference values to determine control values that will affect changes in operation of the gravitational sedimentation device.
Device for separating solids from a fluid stream
A separator vessel has inlet, fluid outlet, and sand outlet ports. Each of the fluid and sand outlet ports are spaced below the inlet port. The separator has an enclosure between the inlet and fluid outlet ports. The enclosure redirects the fluid stream and defines an inner cavity above a lower edge of the enclosure, the lower edge defining a liquid flow area. The separator has one or more vanes extending along an outer surface of the enclosure which redirect the fluid stream along a curved flow path as the fluid stream flows toward the lower edge, and a plurality of apertures adjacent to the vanes, the apertures permitting fluid flow into the inner cavity of the enclosure. The fluid outlet port is disposed within the inner cavity above the lower edge of the enclosure and below one or more apertures.
Green liquor clarification using sedimentation tank during white liquor preparation
The invention relates to a method for clarification of raw green liquor in a sedimentation tank. According to the invention is a part of dregs separated in the sedimentation tank recirculated back into the inflow of raw green liquor, and preferably after passing the dregs through at least one turbulence generator (30, 31) that could break up larger dregs particles into smaller dregs particles, and thus create larger total surface on the dregs particles, improving sedimentation rate in the sedimentation tank. In a preferred embodiment is the recirculated dregs added into the flow of raw green liquor before a flocculant is added into the flow of raw green liquor and mixed recirculated dregs.
Sand removal tank
A tank for removing sand entrained in a flow includes an inlet assembly including churn tubes configured to receive fluid provided into the tank such that sand is separated from water, gas and oil present in the flow. An oil outlet port communicates with an oil collection device, and a water outlet port communicates with a water outlet assembly.
