Process and System for Treating Waste Water
The present invention relates to a waste water treatment process and system for treatment of waste water utilizing a diatomite treatment agent containing about 98 to 99.9% by weight of diatomite particles, wherein the diatomite particles comprise unbalanced surface charges and is substantially free of counter ions being electrostatically coupled to the unbalanced surface charges, and wherein the diatomite treatment agent is obtained from the disclosed pre-treatment process. This diatomite treatment agent has posed several advantages in a waste water treatment process, particularly acting as a biomass carrier, physical coagulant and adsorbent in a system for treatment of waste water, the system comprising a specially designed clarifier.
Devices for separation of particulates, associated methods and systems
A separation device, system and associated method are provided herein for separation of particulates form a base fluid. The separation device comprises a first microchannel comprising a fluid inlet and a mesofluidic collection chamber. The mesofluidic collection chamber has a first side and a second side, wherein the mesofluidic collection chamber is operatively coupled to the first microchannel on the first side, and wherein the mesofluidic collection chamber comprises a first fluid outlet at the second side, such that the fluid inlet, first microchannel, and first fluid outlet are in fluidic communication via the mesofluidic collection chamber.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR TREATMENT AND PURIFICATION OF WASTEWATER
A method of treating oil and gas produced water may include: receiving produced water from one or more wells; separating an aqueous portion of the produced water from oil and solids included in the produced water in order to provide recovered water; performing anaerobic bio-digestion of organic matter included in the produced water using a biomass mixture of anaerobic bacteria obtained from a plurality of wells; aerating the recovered water in order to promote metal precipitation; and performing aerobic bio-digestion of organic matter present in the recovered water. Some embodiments may also include one or more of anoxic equalization, filtration, pasteurization, reverse osmosis, and biocide treatment of the recovered water. The recovered water may be used for oil and gas well fracking and/or land and stream application. Other methods of treating oil and gas produced water are also described.
Process and installation for producing alumina trihydrate by alkaline digestion of bauxite ore
A process for producing alumina trihydrate includes a digestion step, a separation step, and a precipitation step the separation step including: b1) pretreating a slurry from the digestion step by adding a flocculant to said slurry and mixing the flocculant and the slurry, b2) settling the resulting flocculated slurry in a gravity settler vessel, b3) determining a measured value representative of the concentration of solid particles in the resulting clarified liquor, b4) comparing the measured value with a predetermined threshold, b5) feeding said clarified liquor directly to the precipitation step, while the measured value is less than said predetermined threshold, and b6) redirecting said clarified liquor to the pre-treatment step b1), when the measured value is more than said predetermined threshold. An installation may be configured for operating said process.
FEED DILUTION APPARATUS FOR THICKENER/CLARIFIERS
A feedwell assembly (1) having a feedwell (3) and feed dilution apparatus (27) is characterised in that the feed dilution apparatus (27) includes a centrifugal impeller (16) arranged within a pump housing (9). The pump housing is arranged below a weir box (12) having an upper opening and a spill lip (12b). The spill lip (12b) is arranged at an upper periphery of the weir box (12). The spill lip (12b) is configured to be arranged below an air-liquid interface (20) during operation such that there is a depth of submergence (26) between the spill lip (12b) and the air-liquid interface (20).
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF WET ORGANIC MATTER TO PRODUCE BIOGAS
Apparatus for treatment of wet organic matter to produce biogas, comprising a closed reactor (11) for anaerobic digestion of the wet organic matter. The anaerobic reactor comprises two vertical 5 tubes, a vertically arranged outer tube (14) defining a first reactor chamber (111) enveloping a vertically arranged inner tube (15) which is divided into a first region (112a) and a second region (112b) of a second reactor chamber (112) by a vertical partitioning wall (16). The first reactor chamber comprises a particle retaining unit (31) connecting the first and the second reactor chambers. The anaerobic reactor (11) exhibits a top discharge pipe (18) for gas developed in either 0 of the two reactor chambers (111, 112). A method for treatment of wet organic matter is also contemplated.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF SOLIDS CONDITIONING IN A FILTRATION SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for conditioning the settled solids in the bottom of a wastewater filtration tank to reduce the acidification of the sludge and prevent the excessive growth of undesirable biological growth.
