AIR WARMER
An air blower has an inlet muffler and an outlet muffler to reduce the noise of the air blower during operation. Each of the mufflers may have two sections. One section is configured to attenuate high frequency noise and the other section is configured to attenuate lower frequency noise. A tubular internal wall in each of the mufflers defines the through passage for each of the mufflers. A noise absorbent material may be fitted about the tubular wall within each muffler. A plurality of holes are formed along the tubular wall of each through passage to expose the through passage to the noise absorbent material. A heater plenum may be interposed between the blower plenum and the outlet muffler to heat the air from the blower plenum. A filter at the input muffler filters the air sucked into the air blower.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR TREATING KIDNEY STONES
An endoscope includes a handle including a handle housing, an irrigation inlet port adapted to receive irrigation fluid, and an irrigation channel; and an insertion cord extending distally from the handle. The insertion cord includes an insertion tube; a bending section extending from the insertion tube; a distal tip extending from the bending section and including a tip housing; a camera at least partially enclosed in the tip housing; interstitial space within the insertion tube in fluid communication with the irrigation channel; and at least one interstitial flow opening in fluid communication with the interstitial space and adapted to discharge the irrigation fluid.
Warming device for perioperative use
A warming device for perioperative use includes a clinical garment and a convective thermal blanket supported on an inside surface of the clinical garment. A mechanism may be provided to releasably attach the thermal blanket to the clinical garment.
Patient lifter with intraoperative controlled temperautre air delivery system
A combination patient-transfer and intraoperative heater device has a top and bottom chamber separated by a barrier. The patient rests on the top chamber, which has a plurality of apertures for discharge of temperature-controlled filtered heated or cooled air at a regulated pressure for patient comfort and mitigation of infection. Heated or cooled filtered air is delivered to the area surrounding the patient, maintaining body temperature during anaesthesia. The bottom chamber has a plurality of apertures. When air pressure is low or off, the bottom chamber is flat and un-inflated. When air pressure is increased, air enters the bottom chamber and the apertures emit air, creating an air cushion facilitating lateral movement of the lifter device. The device performs two functions that now require separate devices and air blowers, it saves space and reduces both costs and complexity in the operating room while mitigating risk of infection.
Athlete's Recovery System
In one instance, a recovery system to assist an athlete with recovery is presented that includes a battery-operated, flexible wrap that applies heat and optionally pneumatic pressure while utilizing both conductive and radiant heat in varying proportions according to a desired pattern. Optionally, at least one pneumatic bladder on the flexible wrap applies the pneumatic pressure to the user. The recovery system has a control unit that ramps the temperature applied before leveling at a target temperature. Other systems and devices are presented.
Method and apparatus pertaining to securement of a personal patient warming apparatus
A personal patient warming apparatus includes a blanket having at least one pneumatic pathway formed therethrough and a plurality of orifices formed through at least one side thereof through which warmed air can exit to warm a patient. The blanket further includes a first portion configured to cover a first appendage of the patient when the blanket is disposed over the patient and a second portion configured to cover a second appendage of the patient when the blanket is disposed over the patient. Both the first portion and the second portion each include at least one tear line configured to form, when torn, an opening in the blanket through which at least one of the patient's appendages and an operating room table appendage board is disposed when disposing the blanket over the patient.
PATIENT SECURING OVERLAY FOR UNDERBODY SUPPORTS
Apparatus and methods related to an underbody support for supporting a body of a being, such as during surgery to prevent contact pressure injuries. In certain embodiments, the underbody support may include one or more inflatable chambers enclosing a volume. At least one of the inflatable chambers may include one or more compression sensitive switches for monitoring the volume of the inflatable chamber, and the one or more compression sensitive switches may be located within the inflatable chamber. In some embodiments the one or more compression sensitive switches are sized to close when the said inflatable chamber is deflated to a desired residual volume.
Method and System for Medical Emergency First Aid in an Accident using Cooling Cervical Spine Collar and Cooling Protective Helmet
The present invention provides a medical emergency first aid during accidents using cervical spine collar to insert a splint for stabilization, resuscitation, initiation of mild to moderate external hypothermia, and vital signs monitoring in victims of traumatic brain (TBI) and cervical spinal injury (CSI). The cervical spine collar of the present invention is housed in the head rest of the vehicle seat and could be deployed automatically using artificial intelligence (AI) or manually by an assistant. One embodiment incorporates a protective helmet with cooling apparatus to induce mild to moderate external hypothermia of the brain to prevent deleterious effects of TBI.
Method and system for regulating core body temperature
A method for maintaining and/or increasing body temperature of a patient may involve delivering heat to a first location on a limb of the patient, delivering heat to a second location on the limb, apart from the first location, and applying intermittent compression to a third location on the limb, located between the first location and the second location. A device for maintaining and/or increasing body temperature of a patient may include a sleeve for positioning over at least part of one of the patient's limbs, first and second heat delivery members coupled with the sleeve, and an intermittent compression member coupled with the sleeve between the first and second heat delivery members.
Targeted Temperature Management Systems, Pads, and Methods Thereof
Disclosed herein are systems, pads, and methods thereof for targeted temperature management. A first pad can include a multilayered pad body and an inflatable cuff around the pad body. The pad body can include a conformable layer, a conduit layer over the conformable layer, and an insulation layer over the conduit layer. The conformable layer can include a conformable material configured to conform around a limb of a patient. The conduit layer can include one or more conduits configured to convey a fluid through the conduit layer. The insulation layer can be configured to insulate the conduit layer from an ambient temperature of an environment around the patient. The inflatable cuff can be configured to press the pad body against the limb of the patient when the inflatable cuff is inflated. Methods of the systems and pads can include methods of use.
