A filtration device comprising a media basket, a baseplate, and a canister. The media basket is affixed to the baseplate. The canister has a cavity therein and is detachably coupled with the baseplate to enclose the media basket. The media basket contains a porous filtration material that efficiently removes contaminants from liquid. The device is configured to establish a first siphon to convey liquid from outside the device into the canister cavity through a canister pipe when a liquid level outside the filtration device is higher than the top of the weir in the canister pipe and configured to establish a second siphon to convey liquid from canister cavity through the top of a center riser pipe and out an outlet pipe when the first siphon has been established and the liquid level outside the filtration device is higher than the top of the center riser pipe.

A method of installing a filter underdrain system includes: positioning a grout pad on a filter floor; positioning an underdrain block onto the grout pad such that the grout pad is displaced when the underdrain block is positioned on the grout pad; and inserting filler grout around the underdrain block.

An underdrain filtered water collection system includes: a pair of opposing drainpipes, each drainpipe having a plurality of collection drains; and a diffuser screen. The diffuser screen can slide within an outlet in each of the collection drains. A diffuser screen for a pressure vessel containing filter media includes: a screen pipe; a solid plate coupled to a base of the screen pipe; and a winged diffuser arranged around an outer circumference of the solid plate. The winged diffuser includes a plurality of foldable wings. The screen pipe includes a mesh screen having preconfigured interstices therethrough. Feed water flows through the screen pipe where it is directed by an inner surface of the solid plate to flow in a diffused flow through the interstices of the mesh screen and the wings.

An underdrain configured to be placed at the bottom of a wastewater container having media disposed therein wherein the present invention provides equally distributed flow over the entire filter bed. The present invention includes a base member having a planar bottom member with opposing lateral longitudinal leg members. A baffle member is operably coupled to the base member and superposed thereto. The baffle member is formed from four contiguous portions with the inner portions having an obtuse angle therebetween. The outer portions have an acute angle with the inner portion contiguous therewith. A top member is superposed the baffle member and has a plurality of apertures facilitating air scouring of the underdrain. A screen member is operably disposed over the baffle member and top member being arcuate in shape having lateral edges operably coupled with the base member. The screen member is manufactured from wedge wire screen material.

An underdrain filtered water collection system includes: a pair of opposing drainpipes, each drainpipe having a plurality of collection drains; and a diffuser screen. The diffuser screen can slide within an outlet in each of the collection drains. A diffuser screen for a pressure vessel containing filter media includes: a screen pipe; a solid plate coupled to a base of the screen pipe; and a winged diffuser arranged around an outer circumference of the solid plate. The winged diffuser includes a plurality of foldable wings. The screen pipe includes a mesh screen having preconfigured interstices therethrough. Feed water flows through the screen pipe where it is directed by an inner surface of the solid plate to flow in a diffused flow through the interstices of the mesh screen and the wings.

A solid-liquid filtration assembly for removing solids from a solid-liquid mixture includes a filter module comprising a pan, to which a screen is attached, and a scraping arm, to which is attached slurry nozzles. A media bed on the screen separates solids from a mixture of a liquid and the solids. Filtrate drains from the pan via a drain tube. A scraping arm removes dewatered solids and soiled media from atop the media bed, forward of the scraping arm. The scraping arm also expels the dewatered solids and the soiled media from the pan, while slurry nozzles deliver the mixture to the media bed aft of the scraping arm.
