APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING IMPURITIES IN A WASHING FLUID FROM CLOGGING AN UNDERDRAIN AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING CLOGGING OF THE UNDERDRAIN AND/OR MONITORING THE APPARATUS
Devices and methods associated with these devices for significantly improving the efficiency of an existing or new treatment unit having a granular media filter bed supported above an underdrain for removing impurities passing through the filter bed. The devices and methods are specifically designed to prevent clogging of the underdrain to improve the operation and efficiency of the treatment unit. The devices and methods are directed to providing trapping structures and methods that allow a washing fluid to pass through the trapping structures but traps impurities in the washing fluid that have the potential of partially or completely clogging the underdrain. Further, one or more sensors are provided to determine if the trapping structure is performing properly.
Filter assembly
A filter assembly includes a body of filter media, a seal, and a compression ring. The body of filter media having a first end surface, a second end surface spaced apart from and opposing the first end surface, and an outer surface extending between the first end surface and the second end surface. The seal surrounds the first end surface. The compression ring is disposed about the second end surface. The compression ring includes a first channel configured to allow fluid communication between the second end surface and the outer surface.
PRODUCED WATER FILTRATION
A system for treating water includes at least one pump, at least one filter pot coupled to the at least one pump and configured to pass the flow of water to be treated in a first direction, at least one valve upstream of the filter pot, and, a processor operably coupled to the at least one pump and the at least one valve. The processor is configured to implement computer executable instructions that cause the processor to perform functions that include receiving a signal reflective of the parameter from at least one sensor, generating a cleaning signal as a function of the parameter, transmitting the cleaning signal to the at least one valve to close the valve to the source of water to be cleaned, and operating a cleaning cycle in which a cleaning water is flushed through the filter pot in a second direction opposite the first direction.
Open filtration device for a water treatment station
Open filtering equipment for a water treatment station, for open filters with a filter bed such as sand, coal, etc., comprising a plurality of support legs (10), a plurality of frames (20) supported on said support legs (10), each having at least one opening (22), said plurality of frames (20) being suitable to cover the bottom of a filter, and a plurality of filtering assemblies with a flat upper surface, each of them attachable on a frame (20) covering an opening (22) thereof, and each filter assembly comprising a filtering grid (32) for filtering the water from the filter bed by filtering.
Nutrient removal filtration system and method
Systems, devices, and methods for providing nutrient removals in an up flow filtration storm water system for treating water to very high clean levels using filtration media. A filtration media supported by a screen above an angled floor in a vault allows for incoming storm water to pass into a void space above the angled floor into the screen and filtration media and then out an outlet to the vault. The filtration media can include recyclable and/or natural particles. Layers of river rocks can be placed on top of and below the filtration media. Water sprayers can further liquefy sediment and debris that fills the void space between the angled floor and the bottom of the screen. The captured debris can slide down the angled floor, where a vacuum hose from an above ground vacuum truck can remove the debris and sediment. The long lasting filtration media can be cleaned by being backwashed.
Wall adaptor for filter underdrain
A filtration system having an underdrain block and an underdrain wall adaptor. The underdrain wall adaptor includes a vertical end and horizontal base. The vertical end extends from a top wall to a bottom wall of an underdrain block and mates with an end portion of an underdrain block to secure the underdrain wall adaptor to the underdrain block. The horizontal base extends from the vertical end. The invention also includes a method of installing an underdrain wall adaptor. The underdrain wall adaptor controls air and water passage between the flume and the underdrain.
Fluid filtering apparatus and method
A method of filtering a main fluid using a rotary fluid filter. A 360 degree filtration cycle is initiated by receiving, at an initial position, a first portion of a main fluid at a front end of a first fluid flow passage extending through a filter body rotationally mounted within a housing. The filter body is rotated in a rotation direction and the first portion of the main fluid is discharged from a rear end of the first fluid flow passage, having passed through a filter received in the first fluid flow passage. The filter body is rotated further in the rotation direction and a first portion of a backwash fluid is received through the first fluid flow passage from the rear end to the front end. The rotational cycle is completed by rotating the filter body back to the initial position.
Apparatus and method to prevent downward flow of liquid during a gas only washing cycle
Devices and methods associated with these devices for significantly reducing or eliminating liquid (e.g., water) in a water or wastewater treatment unit above the underdrain from moving downwardly into the underdrain during an air only wash cycle of the treatment unit. The treatment unit can take many forms including but not limited to an upflow filter and a downflow filter. The treatment unit may include a filter bed having one or more layers of filter media supported by gravel above the underdrain. The treatment unit may also include an underdrain having a porous plate, slotted plate or slotted upper structure that obviates the need for gravel. Positive pressure is provided to the underdrain to overcome the downward force of the driving head in the treatment unit to significantly reduce or prevent liquid present in the treatment unit above the underdrain from moving downwardly into the underdrain.
Underdrain assembly
An underdrain assembly for filtering particulates from a fluid having an upper structure connected to a bottom plate. At least one flow control vane is positioned between the upper structure and the bottom plate for directing and managing fluid flow through the assembly. The upper structure can have first and second filtration members, the second filtration member positioned between the first filtration member and the bottom plate. The second filtration member can have a shape that restricts fluid flow within the underdrain. The underdrain can have air and water inlets. The water inlet can have an end with a plate covering an upper portion thereof. The end can also include an opening having an angular cut forming an angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the water inlet. Thus arranged, air is prevented from migrating out the water line. A resilient mounting arrangement for the underdrain is also disclosed.
Filter underdrain with internal air scour laterals
Underdrain units in a sand medium or dual medium filtration system include efficient air, water and combined air/water cleaning. Air, water or both are delivered in backflow direction from a very low position on the underdrain unit, as well as water from a higher position, so as to effectively remove blocking contaminants on the outside the underdrain unit and in the surrounding filter media.
