TEMPERATURE REGULATING SYSTEM
A temperature regulation system for regulating the temperature of a portion of a body, in particular of a user's body.
The system comprises one humidity sensor for measuring humidity in the vicinity of the portion of a body, one temperature adjustment element for providing heat to a portion of the body, a memory unit for storing one threshold humidity related value (H.sub.thresh) and one reference user information related values (t.sub.ref, θ.sub.ref), a controlling unit in communication with the humidity sensor, with the memory unit and with the temperature adjustment element, and configured to determine one instant user information related value (t.sub.inst, θ.sub.inst), perform a comparison between one instant user information related value (tin.sub.ct, θ.sub.inst) and one triggering user information related value (t.sub.trig, θ.sub.trig) based on said reference user information related value (t.sub.ref, θ.sub.ref), activate the temperature adjustment element to provide heat to a portion of the body depending on the result of said comparison.
The controlling unit is further configured to receive one instant humidity (H.sub.inst) measured in the vicinity of the portion of the body from the humidity sensor, perform a comparison between said instant humidity related value (H.sub.inst) and one triggering humidity related value (H.sub.trig) based on said threshold humidity related value (H.sub.thresh), and to set the one triggering user information related value (t.sub.trig, θ.sub.trig) to a value lower than said reference user information related value (t.sub.ref, θ.sub.ref) when the instant humidity related value (H.sub.inst) is greater or equal to said threshold humidity related value (H.sub.thresh).
Vibration and heat generation apparatus for use with compression wraps
A system applies compression, vibration and heat to a body part of a person. The system includes a portable vibration and heat generation apparatus having a flexible support platform and a bag-like enclosure extending from the support platform. A cylindrical control unit is mounted to the support platform and extends perpendicularly from the support platform. The control unit has a diameter of between 50 millimeters and 100 millimeters. The control unit houses electronic circuitry and at least one battery. Four vibration pods extend from the support platform into the bag-like structure. The bag-like structure also houses a heat generation unit. The control unit extends through a circular bore in a compression wrap. The compression wrap is securable to a body part with a distal wall of the bag-like enclosure against the body part. The system selectively applies vibration, heat or a combination of vibration and heat to the body part.
ARTIFICIAL HYPOTHALAMUS FOR BODY TEMPERATURE REGULATION
An artificial hypothalamus system for regulating body temperature for a human can include monitoring data from a plurality of sensors. The sensor data can be used in a control system to optimize temperature regulation in real time through a feedback loop. The feedback loop can include monitoring the sensor data, evaluating a predetermined set of fuzzy rules using the data, and combining the output of the fuzzy rules to produce a precise value. The precise value can correspond to an output level for various temperature regulation devices, and a signal can be transmitted based on the precise value to activate the temperature regulation devices to a corresponding level of output.
Method and system to detect changes in a patient's endogenous temperature set-point during externally induced targeted temperature management
Systems, methods and devices for utilizing heat transfer parameters or energy expenditure of devices providing controlled hypothermia, normothermia or hyperthermia to detect changes, or the absence of changes, a patient's endogenous set-point temperature; which is not available during exogenously induced targeted temperature management. A particular embodiment would allow detection of fever in patients undergoing targeted temperature managed.
WIRELESS-CONTROLLED THERAPEUTIC WARMING EYE WEAR DEVICE
A therapeutic eye mask having a wireless temperature and duration controller is disclosed. The therapeutic eye mask comprises an eye mask configured to fit over an user's face, a heater and temperature sensor attached to the eye mask configured to heat and sense a temperature, and a wireless thermal controller coupled to the heater and temperature sensor configured to control the heater and temperature sensor to a particular temperature in response to a heat setting on the wireless temperature and duration controller. Such an arrangement allows a user to operate the wireless temperature and duration controller to set the heater and temperature sensor so as to achieve therapeutic warmth and flexible regulation of the temperature and long keeping the temperature constant to the therapeutic eye mask.
Thermal transfer device for providing thermal treatment to a patient
A thermal transfer device for providing thermal treatment to a patient. A patient support portion supporting and contacting the patient includes a first segment of a fluid flow path to receive a fluid from a fluid source. A flexible covering coupled and movable relative to the patient support portion defines a space therebetween that substantially conforms to the patient. The flexible covering includes a second segment of the fluid flow path. The fluid is circulated through an inlet, an outlet, and fluid flow path for supplying heat to or removing heat from the patient support portion and the flexible covering. A fluid circulation system with a controller may selectively adjust heat transfer from temperature zones defining the patient support portion. The thermal transfer device or a mattress cover may provide for controlling the microclimate, or conditions at or near the interface between the patient and the patient support portion.
Breast Care Device
A therapeutic device is placed over the breast and improves the quality of breastfeeding experience, aiming to heal and treat specific ailments nursing mothers encounter. The breast care device allows the user to maintain treatment while allowing for mobility during therapy. One aspect of the breast care device is made to contain and distribute therapeutic fluids, which are known to soothe breast pain, nipple cracks, anatomical variations, thrush, bites, milk blister, and other ailments. Another aspect of the breast care device contains an array of light elements for the purpose of light therapy, aiming to soothe the same ailments. The final aspect of the breast care device can contain a variety of electrical components, such as rollers for massage, vibration mechanisms for therapy, or ultrasound for imaging or therapy.
