Systems And Methods For Multi Modal Personalized Topical Pain Relief
Taking an individualistic approach to the treatment of chronic pain may soon be the norm of modern-day medicine. The potential to control the type of medication, in addition to external stimulus including, but not limited to electrical, thermal, cold, or ultrasonic, presents itself in a new “toolbox.” The present invention relates to the management of chronic pain through non-opioid, multi modal compounded transdermal applications, whose properties are enhanced externally, by electrical, thermal, or mechanical energy. More specifically, the present invention encapsulates the customization of personal health, in analyzing, applying and contributing to the betterment of patient's well-being, adapting to patient's preference, biological requirements and regulating to various environments based on the individual's specific body part.
Mobile cold therapy device
A mobile, self-contained cold therapy device having a container including an internal liquid or ice water tank, air and water pumps for driving air and water to a cold therapy pad with internal air and water bladders, wherein the pad is worn on an injured region of a user. The device includes an electronic controller for controlling air and water flow to and from the bladders, and a holder for supporting the container and worn on the user's body for portable, hands-free mobility while receiving cold therapy. Nipples are incorporated into a thermal conduction surface of the pad and reciprocated into the user's injured region by an air bladder to further reduce edema.
Method and System For Providing Whole Body Cryotherapy
A system and method for automatically producing and monitoring a cryotherapy session within a chamber includes a plumbing system coupled to the chamber for cooling the chamber. A central controller may be coupled to the plumbing system. The central controller may be operable for: initiating the cryotherapy session within the chamber with a cryogenic gas flowing through the plumbing system for cooling the chamber to a first temperature; determining if the first temperature has been reached within the chamber; determining if a check-in command has been received for the cryotherapy session; and stopping the cryotherapy session after a predetermined period of time. The central controller may also monitor a cooling rate for the chamber and a heater associated with the cooling rate.
Smart Heating Pad System
A smart heating pad system is provided. The smart heating pad system includes a plurality of individual heating pads that are secured within a garment. Each heating pad includes a PCB having a USB connector, a wireless transceiver, and a microprocessor. Each heating pad includes dedicated batteries, or the heating pads are all operably connected to a single battery power supply. The microprocessor is operably connected to the temperature sensor, allowing temperature data to be transmitted to an external control device, such as a smartphone. The external control device also wirelessly adjust the temperature of the pads. The system provides the ability to independently monitor and adjust temperatures along different areas of the body depending on the type of garment in which the heating pads are secured.
APPARATUS WITH SENSOR FEEDBACK
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus for providing pressurized, thermally conditioned air, comprising a casing, a housing in the casing describing an airflow pathway with an air diffusing outlet proximate to an outlet opening for providing a stream of pressurized air through the outlet opening, a convective module disposed part of the housing and the outlet opening via the airflow pathway. The apparatus can include a first sensor input port adjacent to a portion of the casing and configured to receive a signal indicative of a first physiological indicator and a first sensor output port adjacent to a portion of the casing and configured to transmit the signal indicative of the first physiological indicator. The apparatus can include a controller configured to determine a first physiological indicator value from the first sensor input port and perform at least one operation.
Devices for gastrointestinal stimulation and uses thereof
A gastrointestinal stimulation devices including a random stimulation delivery mechanism(s), configured to provide stimuli to a bodily tissue in a vicinity of the stimulation capsule, the provided random stimuli being characterized by a stimulation parameter, and a control circuitry in communication with said physical stimulation delivery mechanism, and configured to set and alter the stimulation parameter non-systematically, thereby altering the characterization of the stimuli provided to the bodily tissue. The algorithm may be patient tailored, and may have a learning machinery which responds to data being received from the patient.
A TEMPERATURE REGULATING SYSTEM
The invention relates to a temperature regulation system for regulating the temperature of a portion of a body, in particular of a user's body.
The system comprises at least one temperature sensor 1004a, 1004b, 1004c adapted to generate a temperature measurement that relates to a temperature of a given portion of a body, at least one temperature adjustment element 1006a, 1006b, 1006c adapted to provide heat and/or cold to a given portion of the body, arranged on or in the flexible support, a memory unit 1016, 1024 adapted to store at least one threshold temperature related value, a controlling unit 1022, 1024, 1032, 1034 in communication with the temperature sensor, with the memory unit 1016, 1024 and with the temperature adjustment element.
The controlling unit is configured to receive the instant temperature of a given portion of the body from the temperature sensor, perform a comparison between at least one instant temperature related value and a triggering temperature related value, activate the temperature adjustment element to provide heat or cold to a given portion of the body depending on the result of said comparison.
The memory unit is further adapted to store at least one user profile information related to a user profile parameter, and the controlling unit is further configured to determine the triggering temperature related value based on said threshold temperature related value, said user profile information and at least one user activity information related to a user instant activity parameter.
Method and System to Detect Changes in a Patient`s Endogenous Temperature Set-Point During Externally Induced Targeted Temperature Management
Systems, methods and devices for utilizing heat transfer parameters or energy expenditure of devices providing controlled hypothermia, normothermia or hyperthermia to detect changes, or the absence of changes, a patient's endogenous set-point temperature; which is not available during exogenously induced targeted temperature management. A particular embodiment would allow detection of fever in patients undergoing targeted temperature managed.
