Meibomian Gland Roller
A Meibomian Gland Roller system allows for self-administered the treatment for a leading cause of dry eyes, namely, tear film oil deficiency. The system combines an effective and safe technique to combine mechanical rolling pressure with heat for meibomian gland drainage. The rolling action of the roller cylinder combined with the roller head to increase effectiveness in empting inspis sated meibomian glands. The roller allows the patient to safely start the application of the pressure at the bottom of the glands and effectively roll open clogged oil glands. The washable roller keeps the head clean for long term use. A preheated eye-shaped soft gel pad can prepare the lids before the roller tip is applied by heating and softening the meibomian gland contents, allowing the roller to have a more effective action to induce mechanical extraction of the gland content.
Method and apparatus for cryogenic treatment of skin tissue
Cosmetic method and apparatus are provided that can provide cooling and/or freezing of skin tissue proximal to the skin surface to generate an appearance of lightening or reduced pigmentation in the skin. The skin can be cooled to a temperature of less than about −5 degrees Celsius for a duration of about one minute or less, using a plurality of cooled contact surfaces, each having a width between about 2 mm and about 20 mm. A cooling arrangement can be provided to provide controlled heat removal from the skin tissue being treated. A sensor can optionally be provided to detect freezing of tissue proximal to the cooled surfaces.
TEMPERATURE-REGULATING STRETCHER SUPPORT
A temperature-regulating support includes a head part and a body part that are coupled to one another, at least one temperature-regulating layer, and a support layer. The at least one temperature-regulating layer has a battery as a power supply. The battery is arranged in a compartment of the support, and the battery is capable of being removed from the compartment and can be inserted into the compartment.
Therapeutic device capable of interactively cross-outputting low frequencies or ultrasound and heat
The present invention relates to a therapeutic device capable of alternatingly outputting a low-frequency wave or an ultrasonic wave and heat, and more particularly, the present invention includes: a heat output unit; and a low-frequency wave output unit which generates a low-frequency wave that is outputted alternatingly with heat outputted by the heat output unit, or includes: a heat output unit; and an ultrasonic wave output unit which generates an ultrasonic wave that is outputted alternatingly with heat outputted by the heat output unit. The present invention provides the therapeutic device capable of alternatingly outputting the low-frequency wave or the ultrasonic wave and the heat, which has the low-frequency wave output unit, the ultrasonic wave output unit, or the low-frequency wave output unit and the ultrasonic wave output unit, and the heat output unit, and maintains a temperature without problems by alternatingly outputting the low-frequency wave or the ultrasonic wave and the heat which are outputted by the output units, respectively, thereby improving user satisfaction.
Mask for treating dry eyes
Disclosed is an eye mask adapted to cover the eyes and the eyelids of a user. The mask includes a main body including an electrical heater and a battery configured to supply the electrical heater and a removable member removably linked to the main body. The removable member includes a wall forming a reservoir provided with retaining orifices adapted to retain a liquid, in particular water, under the effect of the surface tension between the liquid and walls of the orifices. Also disclosed is a method of using such a mask.
Systems and methods for providing zones of selective thermal therapy
The present disclosure describes for at least two zones of selective thermal therapy of the body. Three-port extracorporeal circuits are described that can be used to establish at least two zones of selective thermal therapy of the body. The example three-port extracorporeal circuit includes a branching section that provides for setting the temperature of blood injected into two different portions of the body at differing temperature levels, to provide. at least two zones of selective thermal therapy.
TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED AND VIBRATING THERAPEUTIC GARMENT
A temperature controllable wrap assembly that includes a wrap portion configured to be worn around a user's body part, and at least a first temperature control module positioned on the wrap portion. The first temperature control module includes a housing, a controllable temperature element, a spreader member and at least a first finger spreader pivotably attached to the spreader member. The lower surface of the spreader member is positioned to contact the user's body part. The controllable temperature element is configured to transfer thermal energy to an upper surface of the spreader member, and the spreader member is configured to conduct thermal energy to the first finger spreader.
Cooling system and method for a prosthetic socket
A prosthetic socket cooling system and method includes a thermally conductive heat spreader including a curved shaped portion configured to maximize contact with a residual limb of a user. A heat extraction subsystem is coupled through a wall of the prosthetic socket and to the thermally conductive heat spreader and is configured to maintain a desired temperature inside the prosthetic socket.
AESTHETIC METHOD OF BIOLOGICAL STRUCTURE TREATMENT BY MAGNETIC FIELD
Combined methods for treating a patient using time-varying magnetic field are described. The treatment methods combine various approaches for aesthetic treatment. The methods are focused on enhancing a visual appearance of the patient.
System and Method for Management of Body Temperature
A system and method for adding or removing heat from a heat exchange fluid circulating between an external heat exchanger and an intravascular heat exchange catheter is described. The system includes a two stage cooling system providing for a high rate of cooling in one stage and a lower rate of cooling in a second stage. Both stages may be used to provide maximal cooling while the second stage is used to provide improved control of the cooling rate as a target temperature is approached. The second stage may also be used to provide heat to the heat exchange fluid.
