MEDICAL DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MAKING MEDICAL DEVICES FOR WARMING A PATIENT
A medical device for warming a patient. The medical device includes bed configured to support the patient thereon and a heater configured to produce heat for the patient when supported on the bed. A temperature sensor is configured to detect an ambient air temperature apart from the bed. A controller is provided in communication with the temperature sensor, where the controller produces a signal based on the ambient air temperature from the temperature sensor.
BLANKET FOR SOOTHING USERS EXPERIENCING HOT FLASHES AND COLD FLASHES
Disclosed herein is a blanket for soothing users experiencing hot flashes and cold flashes, in accordance with some embodiments. Accordingly, the blanket may include at least one first blanket portion and at least one second blanket portion. Further, the at least one first blanket portion may include at least one first element and the at least one second blanket portion may include at least one second element. Further, the at least one first blanket portion configured for soothing at least one first effect of the hot flashes experienced by at least one user based on the at least one first element. Further, the at least one second blanket portion may be configured for soothing at least one second effect of the cold flashes experienced by the at least one user based on the at least one second element.
TREATMENT SYSTEMS WITH FLUID MIXING SYSTEMS AND FLUID-COOLED APPLICATORS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
A treatment system for cooling subcutaneous lipid-rich cells in a human subject includes an applicator and a control unit. The treatment system has a cooling mode for cooling tissue and a heating mode for warming tissue. The control unit includes a circulation circuit in fluid communication with the applicator, a chiller apparatus configured to chill fluid from the applicator circulation circuit, and a heater apparatus to warmed fluid from the applicator circulation circuit. The control unit mixes the chilled fluid and/or the warmed with fluid in the applicator circulation circuit control the temperature of the fluid circulated in the applicator.
SKIN FREEZING SYSTEMS FOR TREATING ACNE AND SKIN CONDITIONS
A method and system in accordance with a particular embodiments of the technology includes applying a substance onto skin of a human subject. An applicator is then applied to the subject to cool a region of the subject. After cooling the tissue, a nucleation initiator is used to initiate a freeze event in the tissue. The nucleation initiator can be an ice crystal that inoculates the skin upon contact to create a predictable freeze event therein. The time of contact between the ice crystal and the skin can be controlled to achieve desired effects.
SKIN TREATMENT APPARATUS WITH COOLING MEMBER
A skin treatment apparatus, such as a microdermabrasion or dermaplaning apparatus, includes a housing having a top end and a bottom end, a treatment head attached to the top end of the housing and arranged to exfoliate skin within a treatment area, and a cooling member provided on the bottom end of the housing arranged to cool skin within the treatment area.
Radiative warming system
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a warming system. The warming system includes a light device having a light source configured to be positioned proximate to a patient support having a patient support surface. The light source can also be configured to generate infrared radiation. The warming system can also include a flexible sheet having a first side configured to reflect at least some of the generated infrared radiation from the light device toward a portion of the patient support surface.
Meibomian gland roller
A Meibomian Gland Roller system allows for self-administered the treatment for a leading cause of dry eyes, namely, tear film oil deficiency. The system combines an effective and safe technique to combine mechanical rolling pressure with heat for meibomian gland drainage. The rolling action of the roller cylinder combined with the roller head to increase effectiveness in empting inspissated meibomian glands. The roller allows the patient to safely start the application of the pressure at the bottom of the glands and effectively roll open clogged oil glands. The washable roller keeps the head clean for long term use. A preheated eye-shaped soft gel pad can prepare the lids before the roller tip is applied by heating and softening the meibomian gland contents, allowing the roller to have a more effective action to induce mechanical extraction of the gland content.
Temperature controlled and vibrating therapeutic garment
A temperature controllable wrap assembly that includes a wrap portion configured to be worn around a user's body part, and at least a first temperature control module positioned on the wrap portion. The first temperature control module includes a housing, a controllable temperature element, a spreader member and at least a first finger spreader pivotably attached to the spreader member. The lower surface of the spreader member is positioned to contact the user's body part. The controllable temperature element is configured to transfer thermal energy to an upper surface of the spreader member, and the spreader member is configured to conduct thermal energy to the first finger spreader.
N2O thermal pressurization system by cooling
A system and method of using a source of low-pressure refrigerant for a cryotherapy procedure. The system may generally include a fluid reservoir and a fluid flow path in thermal exchange with the fluid reservoir, the fluid flow path including a thermal exchange device in thermal exchange with the fluid reservoir, a compressor in fluid communication with the thermal exchange device, a condenser, a reversing valve located between the compressor and the condenser, and an expansion valve located between the condenser and the thermal exchange device. The method may include transferring a low-pressure refrigerant to a first fluid reservoir, reducing the temperature of the refrigerant within the first fluid reservoir, increasing the temperature of the refrigerant within the first fluid reservoir, and transferring the pressurized refrigerant from the first fluid reservoir to a second fluid reservoir.
Organ preservation system
An organ preservation system is provided. The organ preservation system is embodied in a sleeve adapted to maintain a pre-transplant organ at a temperature lower than ambient temperature through a plurality of bladders interconnected by a deformable mesh. With the organ in the sleeve, each vessel of the organ can pass through separate, deformable holes of the mesh, facilitating ease of identification of each vessel needed for the pending vascular anastomosis.
