UV sterilization apparatus, system, and method for forced-air patient heating systems
An improvement to UV sterilization and disinfection devices and methods is disclosed. An apparatus for sterilization and disinfection includes: a compact, highly effective air sterilization and disinfection apparatus, which delivers clean, pure air directly into a blower/warmer device for clean and effective management of patient body temperature.
Integral inlet port assembly
A unitary inlet port assembly for use as a closable air inlet port for an inflatable heating blanket or garment. The inlet port assembly has a port panel on the outside of blanket, having an inlet opening configured for receiving an air hose nozzle. A closure panel that is disposed within an interior portion of the inflatable heating blanket or garment, and is hinged an edge of the port panel. A latch extends from an outer-facing surface of the closure panel, to register with the inlet opening of the port panel when pivoted to a closed position. At the closed position, the outer-facing surface of the closure panel confronts and engages the inside surface of the port panel to close the air inlet port. The latch is configured to engage the annular rim of the port panel to hold the closure panel in the closed position.
WEIGHTED BLANKET WITH THERMALLY REGULATED FLUID
The present invention provides a weighted article for assisting sleep, wherein the weighted article includes heating and cooling means. The weighted article is perforated by a series of channels, which contribute to the weight of the weighted article and allow the passage of a fluid that is continuously pumped throughout the weighted article while the weighted article is in use. The weighted article is connected to a control unit including means to thermoelectrical heat or cool the fluid such that a user of the weighted article is able to increase or decrease their body temperature.
Weighted Blanket with Cooling Gel Filling
The current invention is a cooling gel blanket that is filled by weighted material and with materials to disperse heat. The cooling gel blanket is made by laminating a polyester or cotton fabric over a gel cooling core. The cooling gel is a water based polyurethane. The inner blanket core is a flexible cooling gel that transfers heat from the body to the room acting as a heat sink.
FLUID TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM
Described herein is a system for heating and/or cooling a fluid that includes a temperature forcing device having a bottom plate and a top plate hingedly coupled to the bottom plate. At least one of the bottom plate and the top plate has a recess or other area for receiving at least one flexible fluid holder (e.g., a polymer bag). The bottom plate and/or top plate also has at least one protrusion and/or recession in its interior wall(s) such that a fluid passageway in the flexible fluid holder is defined when the fluid holder is placed between the top and bottom plates, and the plates are closed together. The fluid holder then has a fluid inlet for receiving the fluid to be heated and/or cooled and a fluid outlet for delivering the fluid. The fluid, upon being heated and/or cooled by the temperature forcing device, may then be delivered to a patient or may be delivered to another system component, e.g., for additional heating/cooling.
Stationary massage device, system and methods for soft tissue strain release
A stationary massage device, system and corresponding methods are used for self-administrated or assisted soft tissue strain release (including trigger point therapy, strain-and-counterstrain therapy and neuromuscular release). The massage device comprises a body, wherein the body may include branches, each having flat surfaces, edges, ridges or corners. The surfaces, edges and ridges may be pushed along the myofilament direction of the soft tissues to produce pressing, rubbing, stretching and pulling actions on the soft tissues as stripping massages. The system can be configured to form different geometric shapes, and made of different materials of different firmness. The system can be further configured to perform unheated, or heated massages; and cooling treatments. In addition to being used alone, the system can be mounted on a piece of wall, a standing frame, furniture or a garment.
SURGICAL DRAPING DEVICE HAVING A THERMAL FEATURE TO RETAIN NORMAL PATIENT BODY HEAT
A surgical drape for use during pre-operative and post-operative procedures and in sterile operating room environments comprises a drape panel, a heat source affixed to the drape panel for maintaining normal patient body temperature. A thermal panel affixed to the drape panel and defining a heat retention area is optional. The heat source comprises a single or plurality of air-activated chemical warming device for quick heating to optimal temperature and consistent discharge of heat over the desired time.
Differential-melting point PCM as safety indicator for warming devices
A robust, and inexpensive infant warmer comprises a predetermined temperature range indicator based on a phase change material (PCM) indicating suitable temperature for a given application
Cooling and Warming Cover Embedded with Tubing Filled with Liquid
The invention is comprising of a cover for human and domestic mammals, which will provide cooling or warming, utilizing tubing filled with controlled by a liquid embedded within cover which can be attached or detachable, but not limited to. The temperature control switch utilizing a thermostat and distributed by pump. of the liquid can be controlled by utilizing a thermostat or without, and distributed by a pump. The cover is provided in different sizes, shapes and styles forms for preference to accommodate the said user requirements for comfort, to conform to the said user requirements for comfort. The utilization of power operation can be a battery connected by USB, or electricity, solar energy and other sources of energy producing elements, but not limited to. Therefore, the cover can be used outdoors or indoors for the comfort of the user.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THERAPEUTIC HYPERTHERMIA DURING AN MRI SCAN
A therapeutic hyperthermia device and method for using the same includes a cooling blanket dimensioned to at least partially cover a human, a conduit coupled to the cooling blanket, and cooling liquid. Each of the cooling blanket, conduit, and cooling liquid have a negligible effect on a magnetic resonance (MR) image taken by an MRI device. The cooling liquid may have a spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) and a spin-spin relaxation time (T2), where either or both of T1 and T2 are less than 2 milliseconds in duration. The cooling liquid may be one of water with manganite chloride, and water with sodium chloride.
