Thermoregulating Gelpack
20180098879 · 2018-04-12 ·

A gel-pack has a plurality of self-contained components organized as layers in an interior chamber of the gel-pack. Each layer may be inserted into, and removed from, the interior chamber individually. The components include a solid-state gel layer that stores thermal energy, a first radiant energy barrier that prevents the transfer of thermal energy radiating from an exterior of the gel-pack into the solid-state gel layer, and a second radiant energy barrier that reflects the thermal energy radiating from the user's body into the solid-state gel layer.

HICCUP REMEDY

Therapeutic jewelry is provided that can provide a therapeutic heating or cooling effect to a user. The therapeutic jewelry includes a thread, a first therapeutic container portion, a second therapeutic container portion, and a cap. The first therapeutic container portion defines a first internal cavity, includes a receiving member extending across, and has a hollow interior open at opposite sides of the first therapeutic portion to receive the thread there through. The second therapeutic container portion defines a second internal cavity and is connectable to the first container portion forming a jewelry element body such that the first and second internal cavities cooperatively form an interior fluid cavity. At least one of the first or second container portions define a filling aperture open to the interior fluid cavity of the jewelry element body, enabling filling the interior fluid cavity. The cap is operably connectable to seal the filling opening so that the interior fluid cavity is sealed to fluid therein, while maintaining the opening of the hollow interior of the receiving member open to receive the support device.

An air activated therapeutic heating pad for breast is shown and described herein. The heating pad may include a plurality of pad members. Each of the plurality of pad members may include a facestock layer, a first pressure sensitive adhesive, a second pressure sensitive adhesive, and a liner layer. Each of the plurality of pad members may be capable of being selectably activated and the each of the plurality of pad members may comprise a heat-generating composition generating a heat to a temperature. The plurality of pad members may form a generally U-shape capable of fitting within a cup of a bra.

Medical pad and system for thermotherapy

An improved medical pad for contact thermal exchange with a patient includes a fluid circulation layer for containing a thermal exchange fluid circulatable therethrough, a first port and a second port for circulating the thermal exchange fluid in to and out of the fluid circulation layer, and a hydrogel layer interconnected to and extending across one side of the fluid circulation layer to define an adhesive surface for adherence to a patient's skin. The hydrogel layer can include an ultraviolet light-cured composition with a cross-linking copolymer, water, and glycerol. The hydrogel layer is provided to have a thermal conductivity of at least about 1.9 ca/hr-cm- C.

FLEXIBLE ELECTRIC HEATERS

Embodiments include a flexible fabric heater. The fabric heater has a conductive base fabric having elastic properties. The base fabric may be coupled to electrical terminals. A elastomeric layer may be applied on the base fabric. The elastomeric layer may have elastic properties and includes a liquid-resistant material. A first thermal layer may be applied proximate edges along the electrical coupling between the fabric heater and the electrical terminals. The first thermal layer can have heat-resistant properties.

Heat generating device

A heat generating device including a heat generating element and an enclosing material entirely enclosing the heat generating element. The heat generating element includes a base sheet formed of a fibrous sheet containing superabsorbent polymer particles and hydrophilic fibers and a layer of a heat generative composition containing oxidizable metal particles on a side of the base sheet. The enclosing material includes a first cover sheet and a second cover sheet bonded together in their peripheral portions to provide a space therebetween in which the heat generating member is placed. The heat generating element in the space is in a non-fixed state to the enclosing material. The first cover sheet has air permeability in part and is disposed on the side of the layer of the heat generative composition. The heat generating device is capable of releasing steam from the side of the first cover sheet during use.

The hydrogel layer comprises an ultra violet light-cured composition that includes a cross-linking copolymer in an amount of between about 15% to 30% by weight of the composition, water in an amount of between about 15% to 40% by weight of the composition, and glycerol in an amount of between about 25% to 35% by weight of the composition. The hydrogel layer is provided to have a thermal conductivity of at least about 1.9 ca//hr-cm- C.

Heat Exchange Catheters and Their Methods of Manufacture and Use
20170182286 · 2017-06-29 ·

A closed loop catheter useable for heat exchange is manufactured by forming a plurality of generally transverse bore holes though a flexible, multilumen catheter body, lacing a tube trough the bore holes so that loops of the tube protrude from the catheter body, connecting one end of the tube to an inflow lumen of the catheter and connecting the other end of the tube to an outflow lumen of the catheter. A heated or cooled heat exchange medium may then be circulated through the tube while the catheter is inserted in the vasculature of a subject, thereby resulting in heat exchange between the subject's flowing blood and the heat exchange medium being circulated through the tube.
