EQUINE POULTICE APPLICATION PADS
A poultice application pad includes a generally planar poultice layer for application to a treatment area of a limb of an animal, and a backing sheet, adjacent to the poultice layer, which backing sheet supports and holds the form of the poultice layer when contacting the first side of the poultice layer to the treatment area to reduce application time and displacement of the mud/clay mixture beyond the treatment area. Also disclosed is a set of such poultice application pads stacked one on top of another within a sealable container.
System for Generating and Applying Heated Air to the Human Body
Disclosed is a system and method for producing and storing hot air, and for applying the stored hot air to a human body. The hot air producing system may include a heating apparatus configured to heat air to a temperature, a temperature setting gauge, a pressure gauge, a pump to pump the hot air, a fill connection, a container for receiving hot air from the heating apparatus and storing the hot air therein, the container including at least one valve to connect to the fill connection of the heating apparatus such that the container can receive the hot air from the heating apparatus, an adjustable flow release mechanism connected to an outlet of the container for receiving the hot air, and a flexible hose connected to the adjustable flow release mechanism. Embodiments of the invention can include a computer system capable of governing all the components.
Method and apparatus of a self-managed portable hypothermia system
Disclosed herein is a method to enable a user to use a hypothermia system to cool a body part involved in cancer therapy or in brain trauma. The method enables the user to operate the hypothermia system by her- or himself and still be mobile. The hypothermia system comprises a conformal cap system, a thermally conductive liquid located between the body part to be cooled and the cap system, thermal transfer fluids, phase change materials, thermally insulated cooler, physical measuring devices, mechanical and electrical components, a ‘smart’ user interface device, a battery, and an uninterruptible power controller. The method allows a user to control the rate of and temperature of cooling down the body part, exhibits parameters associated with the process of cooling the body part, provides alerts if necessary, is portable and entirely self-managed. The hypothermia device is in communication with and can be controlled by an application installed on a smart device, such as a phone. The method of using the hypothermia system can help to eliminate hair loss caused by the side effects of certain chemotherapy treatments or to reduce the metabolic rate of ischemic tissue to prevent or minimize the severity of swelling.

Targeted Temperature Management Systems, Pads, and Methods
Disclosed herein are systems, pads, and methods for targeted temperature management. For example, a pad can include a multilayered pad body, a pad inlet connector, and a pad outlet connector. The pad body can include a conduit layer and a non-adhesive, thermally conductive layer over the conduit layer. The conduit layer can include one or more conduits configured to convey a temperature-controlled fluid as a supply fluid from a hydraulic system of a control module. The one-or-more conduits can also configured to convey the temperature-controlled fluid as a return fluid back to the hydraulic system. The conductive layer can be configured for placement on a portion of a patient's body. The pad inlet connector can include a pad inlet configured for charging the conduit layer with the supply fluid. The pad outlet connector can include a pad outlet configured for discharging the return fluid from the conduit layer.
SLEEVE-BASED BODY TEMPERATURE REGULATION
A heating system comprises a wearable sleeve, a first heating pad associated with a first portion of the wearable sleeve, a second heating pad associated with a second portion of the wearable sleeve, one or more temperature sensors associated with the wearable sleeve, and control circuitry communicatively coupled to the first heating pad, the second heating pad, and the one or more temperature sensors. The control circuitry is configured to receive one or more temperature signals from the one or more temperature sensors, determine a temperature associated with a patient based on the one or more temperature signals, determine that the temperature is less than a target temperature value, and at least partly in response to said determining that the temperature is less than the target temperature value, activate at least one of the first heating pad or the second heating pad.
