Filter Device Together with a Filter Element Which Can Be Accommodated Therein, and Method for Operating Such a Filter Element Together with a Device
The invention relates to a filter device, comprising a filter housing (10), which has an inlet (12) for unfiltered medium and an outlet (14) for filtered medium and which accommodates an exchangeable filter element (16). When unfiltered medium flows through said filter element from the outside in, it flows through both a hollow cylindrical element material (18) and an element material (22) which closes the hollow cylinder (18) at one free end (20) of the hollow cylinder. At the other free end (24) of the hollow cylinder, an element cap (26) having a central opening (28) is used to discharge filtered medium to the outlet (14) in the filter housing (10), the outlet being connected to the central opening (28). Each element material (18, 22) is accommodated seal-free in the filter housing (10) for incident flow on all sides, from the outside in.
Backwash shoe method and apparatus that increases effective surface area of cloth filter media
Backwash shoes and methods of using backwash shoes are provided to increase the filtration area of a cloth filter media, the backwash shoe having a trailing surface formed from a series of merlons and crenels whereby some of the pile threads of the cloth filter media are compressed toward the support surface of the cloth filter media by the trailing surface and some of the pile threads remain in an extended or straightened position.
Filter element and filtration assembly for biopharmaceutical applications
Provided are filter elements or cells and filtration assemblies or capsules for purifying and/or clarifying fluids used during various biopharmaceutical applications, for example, chromatography or depth filtration, and processes for making and using the same. A filter element comprises a media pack comprising two sides and a separator element located between the two sides, at least one side comprising a filtration media, wherein an inner edge periphery and/or an outer edge periphery of the filtration media comprise a bond directly to a portion of the separator element.

Filtering panel and method of making the same
The present invention relates to a filtering panel (100) for a disk filter and a disk filter for water purification, comprising a metal filter cloth (16, 116) such as a stainless steel filter cloth, pre-tensioned in both warp and weft directions and fastened to a frame (10, 110) comprising a peripheral portion (11, 111), which is integral with an inner grillwork (12) and which divides the inner area of the peripheral portion (11, 111) into fields (15, 115). The frame (10, 110) comprises a plastic material reinforced with glass fibers or carbon fibres such as polypropylene loaded with fibreglass in an amount of at least 20 weight percent. Each field of the grillwork (12, 112) has an area not exceeding 10% of the inner area of the peripheral portion (11, 111). The pre-tensioning of the filter cloth (16, 116) in both directions is from at least 20% of the yield stress of the cloth (16, 116). Further the present invention relates to a disk filter comprising said filtering panels (100) and method of making said filtering panel (100).
SLURRY-LIQUID SEPARATOR FILTER AND FILTRATION METHOD USING THE SAME
A method for separating a slurry-liquid mixture, including using a plurality of filter plates each having a groove, by respectively disposing a plurality of filter disks on the plurality of filter plates, and connecting the plurality of filter plates and filter disks on the wall of a rotational pipe in which the grooves on the filter plates communicate with the inner cavity of the rotational pipe. The method also includes adequately controlling the rotational speed of the rotational pipe and removing the filter residue accumulated on the filter disks. The method of the invention allows for improving the filter efficiency and improving reliability in filtering the slurry-liquid mixture.

Filtration apparatus
A plurality of hollow filter sheets have a suction pipe inserted therethrough to be stacked with a ring-shaped packing clamped therebetween. Therefore, a gap between the hollow filter sheet and the suction pipe is watertightly sealed. In the hollow filter sheet, a hollow portion is provided between two filters, and then a spacer with a surface having pits and projections is provided in the hollow portion. A narrow passage space allowing liquid to pass through is provided between the filter and the spacer by pressing the two filters against surfaces of the spacer with the packings and causing the filters to be deformed into a shape according to the surfaces of the spacer. The narrow passage space is smaller than a drainage space between the filters and the spacer that are not clamped by the packings.

MULTILAYER FILTRATION DEVICE
A filtration device for filtering cooking oil is provided. The filtration device may include a hub and one or more filtration units having a central aperture to coupleably receive the hub. Each of the one or more filtration units may include a first upper filter sheet including a water insoluble or partially water insoluble material or combination of materials that convert or at least partially convert free fatty acid in the cooking oil to soap and a second upper filter sheet arranged adjacent to the first upper filter sheet and coupled thereto. The second upper filter sheet can include a material or combination of materials that remove or at least partially remove the soap from the cooking oil to produce filtered cooking oil. The one or more filtration units can be in fluid communication with the hub through which filtered cooking oil may be removed from the filtration device.
