Solid water separation to sample spray water from a continuous caster

The invention is directed towards methods and apparatus for improving the accuracy of monitors measuring the property of spray water used to cool a molten metal strand in a continuous casting operation. The method utilizes a highly effective slid-sieve to remove particles from sample water that would otherwise jam the monitor or would break the monitor. This particle removal results in the monitor providing more accurate measurements which in turn results in lower operating expenses, reduced maintenance costs, and production costs.

PADDED GRATE DRAINAGE SYSTEM FOR WATER RIDES
20170128846 · 2017-05-11 ·

A padded grating system comprising sheets of multiple composite members secured together with multiple support bars or battens, wherein each composite member preferably consists of an elongated rigid bar with a foam layer adhered thereto which are encapsulated by a PVC or plastic water impervious tube or sleeve that has been heated and shrunk thereon. The sheets are specifically designed to be used in connection with water rides such as the FlowRider and can be modularly installed on site to cover certain drainage areas. The composite members are preferably made by gluing the rigid bars onto a sheet of foam and cutting the foam sheet to form the composite members, and after the tube or sleeve has been heat shrunk around each one, the ends of the composite members are then cut and sealed.

UPWARD FLOWING IN-LINE STRAINER
20170065913 · 2017-03-09 · ·

A strainer assembly for a pressurized fluid system having a pressure vessel with an oppositely directed inlet and outlet located thereon at a common elevation and a drain port in the bottom. A tubular diverter is disposed in the pressure vessel with an annular member sealed about the lower end of the diverter at an angle to the diverter axis and having its outer periphery sealed about the pressure vessel with one side of the member above the inlet and the opposite side below the outlet and isolating the inlet from the outlet. A cover is releasably disposed in fluid sealing engagement over the upper end of the diverter and includes a cylindrical strainer retained in the cover by a support ring having outwardly extending portions connected to the cover; and, the support ring is sealed over the upper end of the diverter. Fluid from the inlet flows upwardly through the diverter through the support ring and into the strainer. Flow emanating from the strainer flows downwardly around the diverter to the outlet. Large debris settles downwardly through the diverter to the bottom of the pressure vessel and is removed by selectively opening the drain port.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SCREENING DEVICE

A method for producing a screening device, the method comprising the steps of providing a screening device that includes a plurality of profiled bars and a plurality of bar holder packages associated with the plurality of profiled bars. The plurality of bar holder packages include a plurality of first bar holders and at least one additional bar holder associated with the plurality of first bar holders. The method including the further steps of inserting the plurality of profiled bars parallel to one another into the plurality of bar holder packages, and bending the plurality of bar holder packages such that the plurality of first bar holders and the at least one additional bar holder are bent at the same time.
