A pleated filter cartridge includes a pleated filter that includes a filter base having folds that repeatedly form mountains and valleys and having a tubular shape whose axial direction is a ridge line direction of the folds, and fixing members disposed on an upper bottom portion and a lower bottom portion of the pleated filter. The pleated filter includes a reinforcing structure for folds in the mountains which are projecting portions projecting toward the outside of the tubular shape. The reinforcing structure includes both a resin-reinforcing structure including, as a reinforcing body, a resin that covers a surface of the base in the folds or a resin that is allowed to permeate in the base in the folds, and a member-reinforcing structure in which reinforcing members provided separately from the filter base are disposed so as to extend along the folds.

The centrifugal filter unit includes a) a housing having an outlet; b) an inlet; c) a filter rotatably mounted in the housing and having a side wall with perforations that allow liquid to pass through but prevent solid material from passing through; d) an aperture; and e) a drive for rotating the filter. A portion of the centrifugal filter unit in the filter chamber is removable and, when removed from the centrifugal filter unit following operation, takes with it at least a portion of the solid material prevented from passing through the perforations. The centrifugal filter unit is arranged such that the feed is drawn into the filter from the inlet through the aperture and the liquid is expelled through the perforations to the outlet and the solid material is retained in the filter. The removable portion is shaped to scrape against the side wall during removal.

A second screen is provided for additional filtering. Large particulate matter is expelled by a chute at the back of the screen assembly. Drilling fluid passing through the screen is reclaimed for use with a drilling system.

Liquid waste is strained from the quantity of swine waste on at least one perforated conveyor belt into the fluid trough, retaining solid waste on the at least one perforated conveyor belt. The solid waste is then transported into a solid-waste storage vessel with the at least one perforated conveyor belt. Simultaneously, the liquid waste is gravity fed into a liquid-waste containment vessel from the at least one fluid trough. The solid waste and the liquid waste are stored to be processed later.
