Contact lens packaging
A contact lens applicator film (45) for picking up a contact lens (11) and applying the contact lens to an eye comprising: a sterilised film (45) wherein at least a portion of at least one side of the film comprises an adhesive coating that is arranged for adhering to the surface of a finger such that, in use, when applying the contact lens to the eye a user can pick up the contact lens applicator film with the finger and subsequently pick up the contact lens using the finger protected by the contact lens applicator film.
Configurable eyewear system
The present disclosure relates to a novel eyewear system and a method to configure the same. An eyewear system consistent with the present disclosure comprises an eyewear frame and a lens casing attached thereto. The eyewear system comprises a set of insertable lenses fitted between said eyewear frame and said lens casing. The lens casing comprises a pliable material to receive the set of insertable lenses. Further, the present disclosure provides a method for a consumer to design and order a pair of eyewear using an online system. The method may include prompting a user to choose from a plurality of unique frame options. Based on the user's selection of the frame, display to the user a plurality of lens casing options. In addition, based on the user's selection of the lens casing options, associate the selected frame and the selected lens casing with a customer order.
CONTACT LENS INSERTION SYSTEM
A contact lens application aid including a lens holder dock structured and dimensioned to receive a lens holder and a light unit optically coupled to the lens holder dock and illuminating the lens holder dock. The contact lens application aid further includes a first supporting member extending downwardly away from the light unit whereby the light unit and lens holder are supported at a desired height above a horizontal work surface. The first supporting member is supported on a surface engaging supporting base coupled to the supporting member. The contact lens application aid enables a user to keep both hands free to manipulate eyelids while applying a contact lens to the eye.
CONTACT LENS MANIPULATOR WITH SAFETY RELEASE
The problem of inserting and removing a rigid gas permeable or hybrid contact lens is solved by the use of a lens manipulator. The lens manipulator includes a handle and an over-sleeve that is optionally attachable to an extraction stem, for creating a suction force to remove a contact lens, and an insertion stem, without suction force for placing a contact lens. Removal of the extraction stem from the over-sleeve eliminates the suction force and acts as a safety release against excessive pull force on an eye when removing a contact lens. A manual-release mechanism can be used to facilitate removal of the extraction stem.
CONTACT LENS MANIPULATOR WITH SUCTION CUP AND SAFETY RELEASE MECHANISM
A lens manipulator that includes an over-sleeve with a suction cup and lumen therethrough that forms a pore in the suction cup and a rod opening at the opposite end for receiving an adjustment rod. Adjustment of the length of the adjustment rod in the lumen controls the amount of suction force generated under the suction cup against a contact lens. Removal of the adjustment rod from the lumen eliminates the suction force and acts as a safety release against excessive pull force on an eye when removing a contact lens.
Bernoulli gripper for intraocular and contact lenses
A Bernoulli gripper for ophthalmic lenses includes a gripper body with a first cavity corresponding in shape to an optic zone of an ophthalmic lens and a first channel formed within the gripper body. The first channel penetrates the first cavity at one end and includes a first port in the gripper body at another end of the first channel. The first channel is enabled to supply a fluid medium from the first port to the first cavity at a first velocity such that the ophthalmic lens positioned with the optic zone in proximity to the first cavity is subject to a first pressure force against the first cavity by the Bernoulli effect.
CONTACT LENS TOOL KIT AND METHOD OF USING
A contact lens tool kit for placement of a contact lens on an eye is provided. The tool kit may include a contact lens tool. The contact lens tool may include an outer edge for selectively engaging a contact lens. The tool kit may also include a lens housing for containing a contact lens, the lens housing selectively engageable with the tool. Engagement of the tool and the lens housing permits reception of the contact lens by the contact lens tool and disengagement of the two permits removal of the contact lens by the tool. The lens housing may include a removable seal for draining solution through an aperture of the contact lens tool or lens housing.
LENS INDEXING ASSEMBLY
A lens indexing assembly is provided that includes a holding portion configured to support a rotating portion, wherein the holding portion has an outer surface configured for holding having a plurality of segments with recesses between segments and a bearing surface, a rotating portion configured for coupling with the holding portion, wherein the rotating portion is configured to rotate relative to the holding portion, and wherein the rotating portion has a bearing surface for rotating relative to the bearing surface of the holding portion, and wherein the rotating portion includes a plurality of tactile features on an outer surface, and an ophthalmic contact lens configured for coupling with the rotating portion, wherein the plurality of tactile features on the outer surface of the rotating portion are configured to provide tactile feedback corresponding to a plurality of angular positions of the ophthalmic contact lens relative to the holding portion.
