09839868 · 2017-12-12 ·

A fluid treatment apparatus and related methods involving the use of replaceable treatment cartridges that include a treatment media, wherein the treatment cartridge is electrically enhanced to form regions of differing polarity within the cartridge. The treatment cartridge can include a pair of fixed polarity conductors that can be electrically connected to a power source so as to induce regions of differing polarity within the cartridge. The fluid treatment apparatus can be utilized to treat liquids including aqueous solutions as well as gases such as an air supply by exposing the fluid to the regions of differing polarity.

An oil filter element has first and second end disks between which an annular filter medium is held. The oil to be filtered flows through the filter medium in a direction radial to the longitudinal axis of the oil filter element. The oil filter element has a central channel arranged on the clean side and provided with a central outlet opening in the region of the first end disk. A radial sealing element, formed by an elastically deformable inside circumferential section of the first end disk, is arranged in the region of the outlet opening. In addition, an axial sealing element is arranged on the outside of the first end disk. This axial sealing element is held on the first end disk by retaining elements. An oil filter having such an oil filter element is provided.

SYSTEMS AND APPARATUSES FOR PASSIVE URINE RECOVERY
20170350111 · 2017-12-07 ·

Systems and apparatuses for allowing passive urine recovery are disclosed. An exemplary commode liner that allows for passive urine recovery comprises a first layer comprising a first top side configured to receive a bio-waste material, a first bottom side, and a plurality of apertures spanning the first top side and the first bottom side, wherein the plurality of apertures passively promote a unidirectional movement of a liquid portion of the bio-waste material from the first top side to the first bottom side. The liner further comprises a second layer attached to the first layer, wherein the second layer is attached to the first layer such that a space is created between a second top side of the second layer and the first bottom side of the first layer, wherein the space is configured to hold a liquid portion of the bio-waste material received at the first top side.

Filtration system with dual lip seal

Various embodiments relate to a filtration system. The filtration system includes a housing having a drain. A filter element is positioned within the housing. The filter element comprises a first endplate and a second endplate. Filter media is positioned between the first endplate and second endplate. A dual lip seal member is coupled to the second endplate. The dual lip seal member includes a first protrusion that extends radially outward around an outer surface of the dual lip seal member. A second protrusion extends radially outward around the outer surface of the dual lip seal member. The dual lip seal member is configured to prevent fluid to be filtered from exiting the housing through the drain when the filter element is in an installed position. The dual lip seal member permits residual fluid to exit the housing through the drain when the filter element is displaced from the installed position.
