ENDOTHELIAL OCULAR IMPLANT
An ocular implant is constructed of a clear, transparent, biologically compatible material and includes a hydrophilic outer surface configured for continuous attachment to a posterior surface of a cornea. The ocular implant has a first radius of curvature at initial attachment to the posterior surface of the cornea and a second radius of curvature at post-initial attachment to the posterior surface of the cornea. The first radius of curvature is different than the second radius of curvature. The ocular implant remains attached to the posterior surface of the cornea at both the first and second radii of curvature.
OPHTHALMOLOGICAL SURGERY MICROSURGERY INSTRUMENTS AND METHODS OF USE IN PARS PLANA VITRECTOMY FOR INCREASING SURGICAL PRECISION AND REDUCING VITREORETINAL INSTRUMENT INSERTIONS AND REMOVALS AND RELATED TRAUMA
Surgical apparatus for performing in pars plana vitrectomy microsurgery including a cannula having an intraocular portion that connects to an infusion tube. The intraocular portion includes fenestrations at its distal end. The intraocular portion receives fluid through the infusion tube and dispenses the fluid through the fenestrations lessening the flow at an infusion site in an eye. The surgical apparatus includes a vitreous cutter having a suction tube at one end and a shaft at another end. The cutting port cuts vitreous into smaller pieces or a laser that liquefies the vitreous. The shaft receives the cut vitreous pieces and the suction tube draws out the cut vitreous pieces from the eye. The surgical apparatus includes a vitreoretinal surgical tool having a vitreoretinal cutter having a scissor-like or forceps-like mechanism. The vitreoretinal cutter holds and/or cuts a membrane in the eye during the microsurgery.
Systems and methods for determining cross-linking distribution in a cornea and/or structural characteristics of a cornea
In a corneal measurement system, an optical element focuses an excitation light to an area of corneal tissue at a selected depth. In response, a fluorescing agent applied to the cornea generates a fluorescence emission. An aperture of a pinhole structure selectively transmits the fluorescence emission from the area of corneal tissue at the selected depth. A detector captures the selected fluorescence emission transmitted by the aperture and communicates information relating to a measurement of the selected fluorescence emission captured by the detector. A controller receives the information from the detector and determines a measurement of the fluorescing agent in the area of corneal tissue at the selected depth. The system may include a scan mechanism that causes the optical element to scan the cornea at a plurality of depths, and the controller may determine a measurement of the fluorescing agent in the cornea as a function of depth.
Visualization system for visualizing of a three-dimensional target region of an object
A system for visualizing a three-dimensional target area of an object with a measuring device which determines a distance of a surgical instrument in a target area with respect to a predetermined structure in the target area, a display unit for representing the views, and a control unit. The control unit controls the display unit such that the display unit is in a first display mode when a determined distance is greater than a predetermined first limit value, and switches from the first display mode into a second display mode when the determined distance changes from being greater than a predetermined second limit value, which is smaller than or equal to the predetermined first limit value, to smaller than the predetermined second limit value.

Eye Disease Implant Device Capable of Lowering Eye Pressure By Easy and Safe Method
The present disclosure relates to an eye disease implant device, and an eye disease implant device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a tube including a hollow portion through which aqueous humor is drained, wherein one or more wings extending in a direction different from a longitudinal direction of the tube are formed on a portion of an outer surface of the tube. Also, the eye disease implant device may further include a body including a receiving space into which an end of the tube is inserted. In this case, the end of the tube may be inserted into the receiving space to be coupled to the body, or detached from the receiving space to be separated from the body.
IRRIGATION IN A PHACOEMULSIFICATION SYSTEM
In one example, a phacoemulsification system includes a phacoemulsification probe including a distal end comprising a needle, and a piezoelectric crystal configured to vibrate the needle so as to emulsify a lens of an eye, an irrigation reservoir configured to store irrigation fluid, an irrigation line extending from the irrigation reservoir to the distal end of phacoemulsification probe, a pumping sub-system configured to pump the irrigation fluid from the irrigation reservoir to the distal end of the phacoemulsification probe via the irrigation line, and a pressure damping insert disposed in the irrigation line between the pumping sub-system and the distal end, and comprising multiple paths therethrough configured to divide a flow of the irrigation fluid entering the pressure damping insert in order to dampen pressure elevations in the irrigation fluid exiting the pumping sub-system.
Systems and methods for delivering an ocular implant to the suprachoroidal space within an eye
Delivery devices, systems and methods are provided for inserting an implant into an eye. The delivery or inserter devices or systems can be used to dispose or implant an ocular stent or implant, such as a shunt, in communication with a suprachoroidal space of the eye. The implant can drain fluid from an anterior chamber of the eye to a physiologic outflow path of the eye, such as, the suprachoroidal space or other portion of the uveoscleral outflow path. The delivery or inserter devices or systems can be used in conjunction with other ocular surgery, for example, but not limited to, cataract surgery through a preformed corneal incision, or independently with the inserter configured to make a corneal incision. The implant can be preloaded with or within the inserter to advantageously provide a sterile, easy-to-use package for use by an operator.
