HVAC home air filter
10512872 · 2019-12-24 · ·

An apparatus and a method are provided for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) home air filter to remove airborne molecular contaminants and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from air within residential spaces. The HVAC home air filter includes a supportive frame having a shape and size suitable to orient the HVAC home air filter within a residential HVAC system. A filter medium is retained within the supportive frame to remove the airborne molecular contaminants and VOCs from air flowing through the residential HVAC system. The filter medium includes a combination of media layers configured to exhibit a relatively high filtration efficiency and a low air pressure drop across the filter medium. The supportive frame includes a plurality of elongate sections and corner sections disposed along perimeter edges of the filter medium to support the filter medium within the residential HVAC system so as direct air through the filter medium.

20190382949 · 2019-12-19 ·

The present invention discloses a carbon cloth material coated with iodine-doped bismuthyl carbonate, a preparation method thereof, and application in oil-water separation. The preparation method comprises the following steps: immersing preprocessed carbon cloth in iodine-doped bismuthyl carbonate precursor solution, and carrying out hydrothermal reaction to obtain the carbon cloth material coated with iodine-doped bismuthyl carbonate, wherein the iodine-doped bismuthyl carbonate precursor solution comprises bismuth citrate, sodium carbonate, sodium iodide and ethylene glycol. Through a hydrothermal method, the carbon cloth coated with iodine-doped bismuthyl carbonate is synthesized in one step, and the carbon cloth material has a function of emulsion separation. The material has the advantages of simple preparation, abundant raw material, good separation effect and good application prospect on the aspects of industrial sewage treatment and emulsion separation.

Multi-functional and high-performing fabric comprising a first layer of yarns woven to form the fabric wherein the yarns comprise at least one unitary graphene-based continuous graphitic fiber comprising at least 90% by weight of graphene planes that are chemically bonded with one another having an inter-planar spacing d.sub.002 from 0.3354 nm to 0.4 nm as determined by X-ray diffraction and an oxygen content less than 5% by weight. A majority of the graphene planes in such a continuous graphitic fiber are parallel to one another and parallel to a fiber axis direction. The graphitic fiber contains no core-shell structure, has no helically arranged graphene domains or domain boundaries, and has a porosity level less than 5% by volume, more typically less than 2%, and most typically less than 1% (practically pore-free).

AIRBAG INFLATOR FILTER USING EXPANDED METAL ORIENTED ROUGH SIDE FACING TOWARD THE INSIDE DIAMETER OF THE FILTER
20240149825 · 2024-05-09 · ·

A flattened expanded metal strip (9) is wrapped into an airbag inflator filter (21) with the strip oriented such that the flattened rough side (17) of the strip is pointing toward the inside diameter (ID) of the filter and the flattened smooth side (15) is pointing towards the outside diameter (OD). With this orientation, the filter (21) is able to capture more slag than filters made using the standard wrapping method in which the smooth side is oriented inward. The expanded metal can be of various types including, for example, variable expanded metal (VEM) or standard expanded metal (SEM).
