System for vision impaired users to execute electronic transactions
A method of enabling an electronic payment for a visually impaired user may be disclosed. The visually impaired user may proceed to use the payment device and enter the braille code which may be communicated to an authority using a first channel to begin a transaction. The system may communicate a verification code to the portable computing device using a second communication channel. The user may enter the verification code which may be communicated to an authority via the first communication channel.

System, method, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media related to correction of vision defects using a visual display
A method of at-home monitoring of eye conditions using a head mounted display that is capable of establishing a visual model associated with a patient. The visual model may include data related to a quality of the patient's vision. The patient may use the system to establish a visual model periodically, such as daily, and the system may compare the visual model to previous visual models and send an alert to the patient's physician if changes meeting a given criteria are detected. This may allow the physician to immediately take steps to save the patient's eyesight where a delay in treatment may result in vision loss.
ULTRASONIC OBJECT DETECTION
A device for ultrasonic object detection, having at least two independent transducers that are able to emit at least two ultrasonic signals respectively in order to produce reflected ultrasonic signals in return, and able to receive the reflected ultrasonic signals, wherein it has an electronic processing unit configured so as to convert the received reflected ultrasonic signals into respective spectrograms, in an audible frequency band, and form respective audible temporal signals through an inverse Fourier transform of the spectrograms.

Method and apparatus for image recognition based on retina prosthesis
A method and an apparatus for image recognition based on a retina prosthesis. The method includes: recognizing meaning of an image captured; and converting the meaning of the image into a corresponding meaning prompt signal and transmitting the meaning prompt signal to a corresponding retina prosthesis electrode in connection with a retina. The method can effectively improve the problem that the existing retina prosthesis cannot recognize colors or complex scenes, enhance the recognition function of the retina prosthesis, and improve the quality of life of blind patients.

SENSORY SUBSTITUTION APPARATUS AND METHOD
Provided is a sensory substitution apparatus and method that combines two or more pieces of multi-sense sensory information to be converted into different multi-sense sensory information, in which received pieces of multiple information are combined to suit sensory characteristics of the user's body and efficiently transmitted to a different sensory organ. According to the present invention includes: receiving input sensory information; classifying the input sensory information; calculating an importance of each of individual sensory information; determining a target sense for which part or all of the individual sensory information, of which an importance is calculated, is to be converted into a new sensory signal incongruent with the corresponding individual sense; and converting the input sensory information into target sensory information to be transmitted to the determined target sense which is an organ.
