VARIABLE AIR FILTER ASSEMBLIES
An air filter assembly includes a filter element having at least one variable dimension, and a frame for engaging and supporting the filter element. The frame may include a plurality of linear segments forming a rectangular configuration, and a plurality of clips for connecting the linear segments together at corners thereof. The linear segments may be L-channel segments, C-channel segments, or may be of other form. Clips may be used for connecting the linear segments together at the corners. The filter element may have a pattern of creases or fold lines to facilitate folding thereof from an expanded configuration to a reduced configuration. A grate may be included for spanning an area bounded by the frame to support the filter element. The grate may have multiple arms and a central hub. An edge treatment may form a seal between the filter element and the frame.
Filter frame with foldable sealing flap
Filter elements and methods of manufacturing filter elements are provided. Examples of filter elements include a media pack and a frame attached thereto. In one example, the frame includes a side panel that is or includes a foldable portion. The foldable portion is folded away from the media pack and an adhesive is located therebetween during assembly. In other examples, a media support member is provided that includes at least one side support panel that supports a side of the media pack. A portion of the side support member is positioned between adjacent pleat panels of the media pack.
Orifice-defining entry plate for filtration device
A filter unit for use With a filtrating fluid flow system is configured to receive a flow of a fluid containing particulate matter. The filter unit comprises a filter structure formed of a filter material configured to at least partially filter the particulate matter from the flow of fluid. The filter unit further comprises an entry plate located proximate the filter structure entrance. The filter structure and the entry plate together define a fluid cavity within the filter unit, the entry plate having at least one orifice defined therein through which the flow of fluid can pass into the fluid cavity. The orifice is configured to form a choke, creating a Venturi effect for temporarily increasing the velocity of the flow of fluid through the entry plate and within the fluid cavity, and onto the filter material.
Kit for Air-Filtration Assembly
A kit that includes a base with a floor and four edges; a cover with a ceiling and four edges; and, four side panels, at least one of which is a framed air filter. The kit may be nestable. The kit is assemblable into an upwardly-open, horizontally-closed air-filtration assembly. The floor of the base may include multiple through-cuts and hinged connections that define multiple areas of the floor that are rotatable upward to provide multiple upwardly-protruding tabs; the ceiling of the cover may include multiple through-cuts and hinged connections that define multiple areas of the ceiling that are rotatable downward to provide multiple downwardly-protruding tabs.
Folding air filter assemblies
Collapsible filter assembly includes a filter medium element and a frame at least partially surrounding the filter medium element. The frame and filter media element are configured to vary in at least two dimensions by folding or unfolding. In at least on example, the filter medium element is rectangularly pleated or round pleated. Upon removal of the filter assembly from packaging and other restraints, the filter assembly may naturally expand with regard to footprint and volume, with some manual assistance being expected of a typical user in unfolding from an area-reduced configuration to an area-expanded configuration, and from a volumetrically reduced configuration to a volumetrically expanded configuration.
AIR FILTER COMPRISING FRAME WITH BOWED INNER EDGE
A framed air filter, comprising an air filter media having a generally rectangular perimeter with four major edges, and a frame comprising four frame portions. Each frame portion of the frame is mounted on one of the four major edges of the air filter media and met with neighbouring frame portions to form corners of the frame. At least one of the frame portions is provided by a frame piece that comprises first, second, third and fourth panels that are foldably connected by fold lines, which single frame piece is wrapped in a generally rectangular configuration so that the fourth panel comprises a forward terminal end that is abutted proximal a rearward major surface of the first panel. The third panel provides a rear wall of the frame portion with an inner edge provided by a fold line connecting the third panel to the fourth panel, wherein the inner edge is bowed.
FOLDABLE RAM AIR INLET FILTER
A filtering assembly that receives an inlet air includes a modulation panel subassembly, an air filter subassembly downstream of the modulation panel subassembly, wherein the air filter subassembly is configured to discharge the inlet air from the filtering assembly, and an arm subassembly configured to move the modulation panel subassembly and to move the air filter subassembly. The air filter subassembly moves into and out of a flow of the inlet air.
Refillable air filter assembly
A frame assembly for releasably maintaining an air filter. In some embodiments, the frame assembly includes a thermoformed body integrally forming a base, opposing side walls, opposing end walls, and at least one closure sub-assembly. The frame assembly is configured to releasable retain an air filter relative to the base via the closure sub-assembly. In other embodiments, the frame assembly defines, in a flat state, foldable side and end panels at the perimeter edges of a central grid panel; the frame assembly can be transitioned to a final state for receiving an air filter by folding the panels. The frame assemblies of the present disclosure are re-usable, allowing a user to replace a used air filter with a new air filter.
Framed Air Filter with Stabilizing Flap
A framed air filter that includes air filter media and a frame with four frame portions. At least one corner of the frame is a bonded, non-integral corner at which a stabilizing flap that integrally extends from a first frame portion of a pair of neighboring frame portions that meet to form the non-integral, bonded corner, is affixed to an inner sidewall of a second frame portion of the pair of neighboring frame portions.
SPACER FOR FILTER
A filter module 1 is used for separating in particular sticky and dry paint and/or adhesive overspray, sanding dust, etc., with a filter setting in a filter housing 2 in the form of an insert 8 formed from a plurality of sections 10-13 for receiving a filter medium 14. Pivotably configured spacer plates 3-7 are integrated into the insert sections 10-13, which are positioned at least approximately at right angles to the plane of the insert section 10-13 when in an outwardly pivoted position.
