V-BANK FILTER
The present disclosure is directed methods and apparatus of a V-Bank filtration system capable of maintaining desired air flow rates while effectively filtering the air. These methods and apparatus charge particles and then capture those particles in a filter medium. Once captured in the filter medium, micro-organisms are exposed to high energy electric fields that may degrade and ultimately destroy the captured micro-organisms. Electric fields generated within portions of the V-Bank filter apparatus may also be contained within the portions of the filter apparatus based on exterior parts of these portions being grounded at Earth ground potential. Magnetic fields (or electro-magnetic fields) associated with the generated electric fields may also be contained within the portions of the apparatus based on the exterior parts of these portions being grounded.
FACEPIECE ELECTROSTATIC CHARGING DEVICES AND METHODS THEREOF
A facepiece charging device comprising a receptacle system, an electrostatic charging system, and a support structure. The receptacle system is configured to detachably receive and secure a facepiece. The electrostatic charging system is configured to transfer an electrostatic charge to the facepiece when energized. The support structure has a moveable guide system coupled to at least one of the receptacle system or the electrostatic charging system. The moveable guide system has at least an engaged position where the receptacle system is adjacent the electrostatic charging system to electrostatically charge the facepiece and a disengaged position where the receptacle system is spaced from the electrostatic charging system.
FACE MASK
A face mask containing a network of conductive activated carbon meso-fibers crosslinked with a crosslinking agent bonded to a insulative polymeric micro-fiber based purification element. The purification element is captured between two ridged porous elements and contacted to the face by a biocompatible flexible polymeric seal. Optionally the front cover attaches to a main frame of the mask through a system of sliding locks that are coupled with bayonet latch mechanisms. The face mask attaches to the head of a wearer through a harness that couples with the sliding locks or alternatively with a biocompatible adhesive.
Air purifier
An air purifier includes a shell, a wind turbine and an air filter layer. The shell includes at least one air inlet and at least one air outlet, and an air passage is defined between the at least one air inlet and the at least one air outlet. The wind turbine is located in the air passage. The air filter layer is located in the air passage and includes a filter screen. The air filter screen includes a carbon nanotube structure including a plurality of carbon nanotube films stacked and crossed with each other. The carbon nanotube structure includes a plurality of micropores. A diameter of the micropores is ranged from about 1 micrometer to about 2.5 micrometers.
SPUNBONDED WEB COMPRISING POLYLACTIC ACID FIBERS
Spunbonded electret webs comprising polylactic acid fibers, in which at least some of the polylactic acid fibers are meltspun, drawn, charged fibers that include charging additive; and, methods of making such fibers and webs.
HVAC home air filter
An apparatus and a method are provided for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) home air filter to remove airborne molecular contaminants and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from air within residential spaces. The HVAC home air filter includes a supportive frame having a shape and size suitable to orient the HVAC home air filter within a residential HVAC system. A filter medium is retained within the supportive frame to remove the airborne molecular contaminants and VOCs from air flowing through the residential HVAC system. The filter medium includes a combination of media layers configured to exhibit a relatively high filtration efficiency and a low air pressure drop across the filter medium. The supportive frame includes a plurality of elongate sections and corner sections disposed along perimeter edges of the filter medium to support the filter medium within the residential HVAC system so as direct air through the filter medium.
SYSTEM FOR ROASTING COFFEE BEANS
The invention concerns a system for roasting coffee beans comprising: —a roasting apparatus (1), said apparatus producing smoke, and—a smoke treating unit (2) configured to collect and treat smoke produced by the roasting apparatus, wherein: —the roasting apparatus comprises a smoke outlet (11), and—the smoke treating unit comprises: a smoke inlet (21) configured to cooperate with the smoke outlet of the roasting apparatus, a smoke filtering sub-unit (22) comprising at least an active carbon filter (221), a smoke driver (23) configured to circulate smoke through the smoke treating unit from the smoke collecting device to an outlet (25) of the smoke treating unit, wherein the smoke treating unit (2) comprises an air inlet (24) configured to mix the smoke produced by the roasting apparatus (1) with ambient air before the smoke is circulated through the smoke filtering sub-unit (22).
FACEMASK FILTER ASSEMBLY
A facemask filter assembly including a layer of air filter material configured to fit inside of a surgical-type facemask. The filter assembly further including a strip of compressible foam that is coupled to the layer of air filter material near the edge (e.g., perimeter, periphery) of the layer of air filter material. The strip of compressible foam can extend around the entire perimeter of the layer of air filter material except for a gap at the midline of the upper edge of the layer of air filter material where the strip of compressible foam is absent creating a space to accommodate the nose of the user.
Corrugated filtration media for polarizing air cleaner
A filter media includes flat sheets that are corrugated into a honeycomb matrix wherein air flows through the material and airborne contaminants are captured on the sidewalls of the material, wherein an active electrostatic field is applied to the flat sheets.
FILTRATION MATERIAL, FILTER ELEMENT USING SAME, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF FILTRATION MATERIAL
A filtration material of the present invention comprises a bulky fiber sheet layer having a thickness of 0.5 mm or more, and a triboelectrically-charged nonwoven fabric layer in which two or more types of fibers different in constituent resin are mixed, wherein constituent fibers of the triboelectrically-charged nonwoven fabric layer penetrate into the bulky fiber sheet layer. A three-layer filtration material of the present invention comprises bulky fiber sheet layers having a thickness of 0.5 mm or more, and a triboelectrically-charged nonwoven fabric layer, which is located between the bulky fiber sheet layers, wherein the constituent fibers of the triboelectrically-charged nonwoven fabric layer penetrate into the bulky fiber sheet layers, and both bulky fiber sheet layers contain fibers having a limiting oxygen index of 20 or more, and have a mass per unit area 0.5 times or more than that of the triboelectrically-charged nonwoven fabric layer.
