A hand-held emergency vision apparatus comprises an enclosed tubular structure having opposite first and second ends; first and second clear members disposed at respective the first and second ends; the structure including a plurality of tubular members retractable to a shorter length and extendable to one of several lengths, the tubular members are rigid and sealed from the outside air; and a filter operably associated with the tubular structure to filter the outside air such that when the tubular structure is extended from the compact form air the outside air is forced through the filter and clean air enters the tubular structure.

An upper end cap is attached to an upper end portion of a filter assembly, and the upper end cap includes an inner peripheral wall that is fitted into a central space portion of an inner-filter member, an intermediate wall that surrounds the outer periphery of an outer-core member, and an outer peripheral wall that surrounds the outer periphery of an outer-filter member. Systems and methods are described for a screen assembly for gas-air mixers in HVAC systems, such as for furnaces. A screen assembly can comprise a mesh screen, a housing, and a pressure tap. The mesh screen can allow for the intake of an air supply while also blocking unwanted foreign matter such as dust or leaves. The housing can receive the air supply and direct it into a gas-air mixer or other component. The pressure tap can be coupled to a gas valve or regulator in order to modulate the flow of gas when air flow is restricted.

A filter element has a filter medium body with a first side and an oppositely positioned second side. A first sealing or supporting element is arranged at the first side. A second sealing or supporting element is arranged at the second side. The first side is positioned in a plane. A filtration system includes an air cleaner housing and a filter element. The air cleaner housing includes a base and a removable cover. At least one of the base or the cover defines a cavity and a protrusion extending into the cavity. The filter element is disposed within the cavity. The filter element includes a plurality of media blocks each including a pleated filter media. The plurality of media blocks are arranged in arch shapes of approximately equal inner radii. The plurality of media blocks are coupled to each other along opposing edges that extend along a pleat direction of the pleated filter media. The media blocks together define at least one void that extends along the protrusion. The protrusion occupies a portion of the void.

The invention refers to a deformable filter element comprising a flexible side element to seal pleats of its filter medium. An end section of the side element is bent over fold edges. The end section and the fold edges are secured to one another. The end section and a main section of the side element, which main section is typically arranged perpendicular to the fold edges, are neither parallel nor perpendicular to each other.

An air diffuser includes a mask plate spaced upstream from an orifice plate in a generally parallel relationship. The orifice plate includes openings in a first zone arranged in a non-linear pattern, inside a second zone arranged in a linear pattern. Both zones can be within a peripheral wall defining the spacing between the mask plate and the orifice plate. The mask plate has a large opening for air, with a footprint slightly larger than the first zone. The density and zone arrangement of the mask plate and the orifice plate results in a better umbrella pattern flow of air exiting the diffuser.
