A filtering system and method for installing the system on an HVAC or computer server closet. The filtering system comprises of two horizontal rails and two vertical rails, the rails are secured together to form a rectangular structure. The rails define a channel on a front side of the rails. An air filtering screen that is placed over the front side of the rails. And, a slat that secures the air filter within the channel of the rails.

A system includes a filter assembly having a filter material disposed in an air flow, a first pressure transducer disposed upstream of the filter material with respect to the air flow, a second pressure transducer disposed downstream of the filter material with respect to the air flow, and a controller coupled to the first pressure transducer and the second pressure transducer, where the controller receives feedback from the first pressure transducer and the second pressure transducer indicative of a pressure differential of the air flow across the filter material, and where the controller is configured to index the filter when the pressure differential of the air flow across the filter material exceeds a threshold.

A conformable, unframed, non-self-supporting pleated air filter, comprising: a conformable, unframed, non-self-supporting, pleated air filter media with an upstream face and a downstream face, wherein the conformable, unframed, non-self-supporting, pleated air filter media comprises a plurality of oppositely-facing pleats with a pleat direction and with a plurality of upstream pleat tips and upstream pleat valleys and downstream pleat tips and downstream pleat valleys, the pleated air filter media further comprising a plurality of bridging filaments on the downstream face of the pleated air filter media.

A filter is selectively and removably positioned on the dual-mode filter support behind the grill and in the air passageway. The dual-mode filter support is selectively movable between the first mode and the second mode.

A filtered air vent apparatus has a vent housing body comprising a first sidewall and a second sidewall defining a portion of an air passageway that extends between at least a first open end and a second open end. There is a grill hingedly attachable to the vent housing body and securable to the vent housing body. A dual-mode filter support is sized to fit within the vent housing body in the air passageway. The filter module may include: a filter mesh; and a cleaning member which sweeps the filter mesh to separate foreign substances caught in the filter mesh as the filter module is decoupled from the filter case.
