Example air cleaner assemblies are depicted and described in which a main filter cartridge sealing surface is recessed from an open end of a housing body. An access cover of the housing is configured with a portion extending inwardly to engage a main filter cartridge portion and bias it against the main filter cartridge sealing surface. In selected assemblies, the portion of the access cover extending inwardly toward the main filter cartridge, is a precleaner having flow separator tubes therein.

Rotary Separation Apparatus and Process

A rotary separation apparatus is deployed in a process for separating resinous trichomes rich in flavoring, aromatic and/or medicinal components produced in plant trichome glands from unwanted plant matter. A liquid freezing agent is introduced into a container of the plant matter to fragment the undesirable matter while the desired portion rich in trichome remain intact.

Method for operating filtration device

A filtration device efficiently sizes removal of unnecessary substances adhering to and deposited on a filter medium of a filter element during filtration and backwashing (cleaning) from target (non-filtered) substances. The filter element captures substances in a fluid on one surface of a filter medium. The captured substances are separated from the filter medium during backwashing. A brush moves relative to the one surface of the filter medium and assists in separating the captured substances and sifting during the relative movement. The backwashing starts when a differential pressure between both surfaces of the filter medium exceeds a predetermined value, or the like while performing the filtration, and returns to filtration after the differential pressure is eliminated or after a predetermined time elapses. The brush sifts the unnecessary substances from the captured substances and passes the removal to the other surface side during the filtration.

UTILIZING A MECHANICAL SEAL BETWEEN A FILTER MEDIA AND AN ENDCAP OF A ROTATING FILTER CARTRIDGE

Referring to the figures generally, rotating filter cartridges (e.g., a rotating coalescers) for a rotating filtration system (e.g., rotating coalescer crankcase ventilation systems) are described. The described filter cartridges use mechanically created seals to seal the filter media to the endcaps of the filter cartridges. Accordingly, the described filter cartridges eliminate the need to use a potting or embedding material during manufacturing of the filter cartridge, thereby eliminating the costs and potential manufacturing defects associated with the potting or embedding material and process.
