The base plate comprising: a top layer; a first adhesive layer; an electrode assembly comprising a plurality of electrodes, the electrode assembly having a first part and a second part, the first part comprising connection parts of the plurality of electrodes, the second part being arranged between the first adhesive layer and the top layer; and a monitor interface configured for connecting the base plate to a monitor device, the monitor interface comprising a plurality of terminals configured to form electrical connections with respective terminals of the monitor device. The top layer comprises a top layer opening configured to allow for connection between the plurality of electrodes of the electrode assembly and terminals of the monitor device.
Fluorescent oxygen sensing ink
A fluorescent oxygen sensing ink includes at least one organic solvent, at least one polymer binder disposed in the organic solvent, and an oxygen-sensitive fluorescent dye disposed in the organic solvent. The oxygen-sensitive fluorescent dye and the at least one polymer can interact to form a moisture-resistant film. The fluorescent oxygen sensing ink can be incorporated into an oxygen sensing wound dressing.

The microprocessor is configured to broadcast, by the wireless communication module, a device identification signal; listen for an external device identification signal; transmit device capability data; receive external device capability data. The microprocessor is further configured to receive an internal measurement from the sensor; transmit the internal measurement; receive an external measurement from the external device; analyze the internal measurement and the external measurement to determine an analysis result; and transmit the analysis result.

A wound dressing can include a substantially flexible substrate with a first, wound-facing side supporting a plurality of electronic components and a second side opposite the first side. The plurality of electronic components can include a light source, a resistor-capacitor (RC) network, and at least one switch electrically connected to the light source and to the RC network. The at least one switch can be configured to, in a first state, permit power to be supplied to the light source and, in a second state, prevent power being supplied to the light source.

The allergen complex layer defines a plurality of allergen complex cavities. At least a subset of the allergen complex cavities include an allergen complex positioned therein, each allergen complex comprising an absorbent matrix and an allergen.
System for analysis of body fluids and wound-associated biomolecules
A system for analyzing a wound fluid. The system includes a transparent layer, a membrane layer, and an indicator layer that contains a colorimetric or fluorescent indicator reagent for detecting pH, a nitrite, an enzyme, a reactive oxygen species, a reactive nitrogen species, a nucleic acid, or a combination thereof. The membrane layer is impermeable to blood clots and cellular debris and is permeable to wound fluid. Also provided are methods for analyzing a wound fluid and for detecting biological fluid on biomedical instruments and waste materials using the system.
SENSOR APPARATUS FOR A COMPRESSION GARMENT
A sensor apparatus includes a sensor device (2), for attaching to an outer surface of a compression garment (1), and a controller. The sensor device (2) comprises a first mounting point (70), attached to a first point on the garment (1), and a second mounting point (45), attached to a second point on the garment (1). The sensor device (2) senses displacement between the first (70) and second mounting points (45). The controller processes information representative of the sensed displacement to estimate a pressure exerted by the compression garment (1) on a wearer of the garment (1).
Systems for recognizing temperature as a sign of surgical infection and methods of using the same
A system for detecting potential for infection includes a wound dressing and an electronics component. The wound dressing includes a temperature sensing layer and a cover layer comprising a substrate and a backing layer. The electronics component includes a power source, an electronic control unit (ECU), and a communications interface positioned within a housing and removably coupled to the temperature sensing layer of the wound dressing. The electronics component is configured to receive a plurality of temperature readings from the temperature sensing layer, and provide an indication of potential infection of the wound based the plurality of temperature readings. In various embodiments, each of the plurality of temperature readings corresponds to a temperature of an area around a wound. Methods for preventing infections using the system are also described.
