Wearable data storage and transmission device for processing sensor data

A wearable data storage and transmission device and related systems that collect and store sensor data from sensors worn by a user. The device components can include a processor, battery, data storage media, NFC components, Bluetooth components, Wi-Fi components, and wired communications components. The device can remain powered down, powering up periodically to collect sensor data using low energy methods and/or in response to receiving a signal (e.g., NFC, power, Bluetooth, etc.) from an external device that causes the device to power up its components and make sensor data available to the external device. The collected sensor data may be encoded, compressed, stored, and/or exchanged in one or more structured records using various methods to improve the information storage capabilities of the device, including using the disclosed QR coding methods.

PRESSURE SENSING DEVICE FOR USE WITH A COMPRESSION BANDAGE

A pressure sensing clip (1) and a system including a bandage (19) for detecting and displaying the pressure applied by a (compression) bandage (19) to a human or animal body in which the pressure sensing clip (1) has an inner bandage penetrating arm (2) and an outer arm (3) hingedly attached to the inner arm (2) at a hinge (4) so that the outer arm (3) is movable between a hingedly closed position with respect to the inner arm (2) and a hingedly open position. The device can be operatively attached to an applied compression bandage, or it can be placed beneath or between the bandage during bandage application so that the bandage covers the sensing part of the device. In the latter application, the ability of the arms of the device to adapt an open configuration allows the bandage to be applied over the inner arm leaving the outer arm to close once the bandage has been applied. The device can receive, store and transmit data to a user.

The wound dressing garment includes a wearable garment including a portion having a hole configured to receive a wound dressing therein in combination with the wound dressing. The wound dressing includes a border connecting the wound dressing to the wearable garment where the border extends around the perimeter of the hole to locate the wound dressing therein. The wound dressing may include one or more additional layers including a hydrogel layer. A method for treating wound or preventing bed sores using the wound dressing garment is also provided.

WIRELESS PRESSURE ULCER ALERT DRESSING SYSTEM
20170281073 · 2017-10-05 ·

A wireless pressure ulcer alert dressing system for warning a patient or caregiver that soft tissue pressure or health condition has exceeded some predetermined level that over time would necessitate moving the patient to prevent or at least reduce a risk of soft tissue damage. The dressing assembly is adapted to be applied to or near a surface of the patient's body and generate electrical outputs corresponding to soft tissue pressure and other health characteristics sensed at the surface. The dressing assembly generates output signals based on the electrical outputs and corresponding to whether or not the soft tissue pressure has exceeded a predetermined pressure level during the preselected time period. The dressing assembly includes a pocket formed therein for removable, secured and protected insertion of a variety of different sensors such as multiple pressure sensors.

DEVICE FOR IMMOBILIZATION

In order to create a simple device for immobilizing the human body or parts of the body in a manner that is gentle on the patient, in particular for arranging medical targeting devices, markers or surgical instruments for image-guided, minimally invasive surgery, said device having at least one immobilization element (1) which can be positioned on the surface of the body, the immobilization element (1) is made of a bonded nonwoven fabric (2) which can be fastened by means of a micro hook-and-loop fastener (3).

PIEZOELECTRIC COMPRESSION STOCKING
20170246073 · 2017-08-31 ·

The present disclosure provides a compression stocking that comprises a tubular fabric body and a piezoelectric material that is incorporated into the tubular fabric body. The piezoelectric material changes shape in response to actuation energy to generate a compressive force. When the compression stocking is placed on a user's leg, the compressive force may compress blood vessels in the user's leg to assist with the return of venous blood.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING AND TRACKING RANGE OF MOTION OF A JOINTED LIMB

A method for calculating range of motion of a patient's jointed limb includes providing one or more locators at an upper limb of the jointed limb, and one or more of the locators at a lower limb of the jointed limb. A first image of the patient's joint in a fully extended position a second image of the patient's joint in a fully flexed position are captured with an imaging device. The method includes identifying positions of the locators of both the first image and the second image, and determining an extended angle of the patient's joint based on the identified positions of the locators of the first image. The method includes determining a flexed angle of the patient's joint based on the identified positions of the locators of the second image. The method includes determining a range of motion angle based on the extended angle and the flexed angle.

Wrap Systems for Medical Device Kits

Medical device kits for use in placing, maintaining, altering, and/or removing medical devices in, on, and/or from the body of a patient are disclosed. Such medical device kits can include one or more wrap assemblies for use in the placement/maintenance procedure. In accordance with present embodiments, the one or more wrap assemblies of the medical device kit can include various features to assist the clinician performing the particular procedure. In one embodiment, a medical wrap assembly is disclosed, comprising a foldable wrap body that includes a front surface, wherein the front surface is configured to define a sterile field. A plurality of pockets is included on the front surface of the wrap body. The pockets are configured to contain therein a plurality of medical components. The medical components are arranged in the pockets in a predetermined order of use for the medical procedure.

Reusable adhesive pad with embedded magnets

A reusable adhesive pad with embedded magnets consists of a layer of fibrous cloth with elasticity, a layer of silicone gel padding, and permanent magnets. The fibrous cloth with elasticity is made from fiber materials with a stretchable characteristic. The silicone gel padding is spread out fully and glued on one surface of the fibrous cloth with elasticity. In addition, the silicone gel padding is provided with holes that the permanent magnets with cylindrical or conical outers can be filled in and glued to the adhesive surface of the fibrous cloth with elasticity. Since the other sides of the permanent magnets protrude outwards the surface of the silicone gel padding, applying the invention to the human skin can perform the acupuncture and moxibustion treatment and the magneto-therapy to lessen painful discomfort.
