Elastic venous compression orthosis
An orthosis, in particular an elastic venous compression orthosis, provided with a device for measuring the time during which the orthosis is worn.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR APPLYING COMPRESSION
A compression device for applying pressure to a body part can include a fabric member that can fit over the body part, and one or more actuators coupled to the fabric member, wherein each of the one or more actuators is configured to cause at least a portion of the fabric member to expand or contract along a circumferential direction, thereby decreasing or increasing the pressure applied to the body part adjacent to the actuator. The fabric member can be thin and stretchable, and can contour the body part over which it is worn. The actuators can cause user controlled variable pressure levels to be applied to the body part, including constant pressure levels as well as time varying synchronous or asynchronous pressure patterns.
DESIGN RULES FOR SENSOR INTEGRATED SUBSTRATES
Methods of manufacturing a wound monitoring and/or therapy apparatus and/or wound dressing include positioning electronic components and connections in regions of a substrate that are not configured to be perforated. The methods can also include following a set of rules for positioning the components as well as positioning and shaping the connections based on the constraints stemming from, among other things, the positioning of the perforations on the substrate and with the goal of maintaining acceptable levels of signal integrity. The methods further include manufacturing a multi-layered substrate. Wound monitoring and/or therapy apparatus manufactured using such methods are also disclosed.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR FORMING A COMPOUND FILM, AND APPARATUS HAVING A COMPOUND FILM
This disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods related to a compound film. An exemplary compound film includes a first layer including a first polymer composition including polyurethane and a second layer including a second polymer composition removably coupled to the first layer. The compound film further includes light switchable adhesive coupled to the second layer and configured to transition from a first state to a second state, the light switchable adhesive has a first peel strength in the first state that is greater than a second peel strength of the light switchable adhesive in the second state. A third peel strength between the first layer and the second layer is less than the second peel strength between the light switchable adhesive in the first state and a bond site.
DRESSINGS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PHLEBITIS DETECTION
A medical dressing comprises at least one light source and at least one light sensor fixedly attached to a substrate and configured to measure a reddening of a portion of skin as an early indicator of phlebitis around the wound site. A method of phlebitis detection and monitoring comprises covering a wound site with a medical dressing comprising at least one light source and at least one light sensor such that the wound site is situated between the two, and whereby reddening of the skin is monitored by analyzing light reflected off the skin.
WEARABLE DATA STORAGE AND TRANSMISSION DEVICE FOR PROCESSING SENSOR DATA
An attachable data system for tracking items includes a microprocessor; a power supply configured to supply power to the microprocessor; a memory communicatively connected to the microprocessor; a Bluetooth communications module; and an NFC module. The NFC module performs operations including establishing an NFC field with an NFC initiator device in response to receiving an NFC signal from the NFC initiator device via the NFC antenna; extracting identifying information from the NFC signal; and storing the identifying information in the NFC memory. The microprocessor is configured to perform microprocessor operations including accessing the identifying information stored in the NFC memory; and causing a transmission of the identifying information using the Bluetooth communications module.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR CELLULAR ACTIVATION
An apparatus includes multiple first reservoirs and multiple second reservoirs joined with a substrate. Selected ones of the multiple first reservoirs include a reducing agent, and first reservoir surfaces of selected ones of the multiple first reservoirs are proximate to a first substrate surface. Selected ones of the multiple second reservoirs include an oxidizing agent, and second reservoir surfaces of selected ones of the multiple second reservoirs are proximate to the first substrate surface.
Electric bandage for accelerated wound recovery
A wearable medical bandage is provided having an energy harvesting generator that harvests mechanical energy from the user's natural body and muscle motions to produce electrical energy. The electrical energy induces an electric potential across the wound opening producing accelerated skin wound recovery under the voltage fluctuations produced by the power generator.
SENSOR INTEGRATED DRESSINGS AND SYSTEMS
In some cases, a wound dressing includes a substantially flexible substrate with a first, wound-facing side supporting a plurality of electronic components and a second side opposite the first side, a wicking layer in contact with the second side of the substrate, the wicking layer configured to facilitate passage of fluid, a substantially non-stretchable coating applied to at least some of the plurality of electronic components, a substantially stretchable coating applied to the first side of the substrate, the stretchable coating applied over the substantially non-stretchable coating, a wound contact layer in contact with the stretchable coating, the wound contact layer configured to adhere to a wound, and a protective layer applied to the wound contact layer, the protective layer configured to be removed to expose the wound contact layer. In some cases, a method of manufacturing the wound dressing.
OZONE GENERATION APPARATUSES AND METHODS OF TREATING WOUNDS
An ozone generation apparatus includes a flexible and porous gas permeable treatment patch configured to be releasably secured to a user's body such that an exterior surface of the treatment patch directly contacts skin on the user's body, and an ozone generating unit fluidically coupled to the treatment patch and configured to provide a flow of ozone through pores in the treatment patch toward and out through the exterior surface of the treatment patch. In certain embodiments, the patch may be used for combination therapies in which both ozone and antibiotics are simultaneously applied to the user's body.
