This invention relates to a packaging forming a closed internal space in which e.g. cut flowers are received for storage and/or transport purposes, wherein the packaging on the outside is impermeable to microorganisms and on the inside is impermeable to water, wherein the packaging has a strength sufficient to support at least one other identical packaging without damaging or deforming the content in the packaging, and wherein the internal space is substantially free of living microorganisms.

A stem bayonet clip having a compression portion with opposing main body portions movable with respect to one another; which may include one or more compression ribs provided on interior surfaces of the opposing main body portions; a locking mechanism provided about an edge portion of the opposing main body portions, the locking mechanism being configured to retain a compressive force applied to a stem of a floral element inserted between the opposing main body portions; and a bayonet portion configured to be inserted into floral foam or similar material. An apparatus is provided including a sealable fluid-tight container comprising leafy organic material and a one-way fluid-tight valve, a pressure source, and means for connecting the pressure source to the sealable fluid-tight container such that the pressure source applies fluid pressure to the sealable fluid-tight container via the one-way fluid-tight valve. The pressure source is configured to provide fluid to the sealable fluid-tight container comprising the leafy organic material and the one-way fluid-tight valve keeps received fluid from escaping the sealable fluid-tight container.

A blank when used for forming a floral arrangement apparatus, the blank being fabricated from a material including at least a pair of layers spaced apart from one another to form a cavity therebetween, the blank including a first panel portion and a second panel portion located adjacent the first panel portion and sharing a common edge therewith, the first panel portion and the second panel portion being configured for folding movement relative to one another about the common edge. In the assembled condition, the first panel portion and the second panel portion are located in abutment with one another such that the cavity is accessible through an aperture in the common edge.

An apparatus and method for the protection and transportation of floral arrangements are shown. The apparatus includes a container defining a central volume. A tray is included for the suspending of a floral arrangement within the central volume. A decorative base is configured to surround a portion of the flowers. An insert is in communication with the container and configured to cradle a portion of the decorative base so as to restrict movement. The floral arrangement is tied or coupled to a portion of the tray. An optional temperature regulating device may be inserted to assist in maintaining the freshness of the floral arrangement.

An apparatus and method for the protection and transportation of floral arrangements are shown. The apparatus includes a container defining a central volume. A tray is included for the suspending of a floral arrangement within the central volume. A decorative base is configured to surround a portion of the flowers. An insert is in communication with the container and configured to cradle a portion of the decorative base so as to restrict movement. The floral arrangement is tied or coupled to a portion of the tray. An optional temperature regulating device may be inserted to assist in maintaining the freshness of the floral arrangement.

The present invention relates to: a method for preparing a cut flower water retention agent; a cut flower water retention agent prepared thereby; and a cut flower container for accommodating the same, and the cut flower water retention agent can supply water and nutrients so as to maintain freshness for a long time without the wilting of cut flowers during the distribution and storage of the cut flowers, and is prepared to be superabsorbent so as to be used by being mixed with water, thereby having convenient use, enabling cut flowers to be safely transported and carried, and enabling a decrease in the commodity value of cut flowers to be prevented during the distribution thereof by extending the lifespan of the cut flowers.

The package is designed to be lightweight, to protect the article being shipped, and to function as an adornment after delivery. The package includes a container for the article to be shipped, a stand for supporting the container, and a cap for covering the stand. The stand is collapsible into a flat shape and is expandable into an open upright shape for displaying the shipped article. The stand may also have printed matter thereon to provide a message or advertisement. When a plant is being shipped, the package may include a water-resistant breathable bag surrounding the container to help contain the seed or root ball of the plant during shipment, and to provide an additional ornamental feature for the plant when displayed.

A system for packaging and transporting produce is disclosed. The system includes a cup-shaped base having a bottom with side walls extending upward therefrom to a top rim, the bottom having an outer, substantially flat surface and an inner surface opposite the outer surface, and the inner surface and side walls forming an inner space. The system may further include within the inner space one of soil, an absorbent non-organic material or chlorinated water with additives. The system also includes a substantially dome-shaped top configured to rest upon and mate with the top rim. Methods and devices for packaging and transporting produce are also disclosed
