System for providing continual drainage in negative pressure wound therapy
A system for subatmospheric pressure therapy in connection with healing a wound is provided. The system includes a wound dressing cover dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed of a subject to establish a reservoir over the wound bed in which subatmospheric pressure may be maintained, a subatmospheric pressure mechanism including, a housing, a vacuum source disposed in the housing, and a collection canister in fluid communication with the vacuum source. The system further includes an exudate conduit in fluid communication with the wound dressing and the collection canister for collecting exudate removed from the reservoir and deposited in the collection canister under influence of the vacuum source and a vent conduit in fluid communication with the collection canister and the wound dressing for introducing air into the reservoir to facilitate flow of exudate through the exudate conduit.
Wearable products having sensing and response components
A system for monitoring at least one characteristic of biological material of an individual includes a wearable product. The wearable product includes an outer surface and a skin contact surface defining an internal area. An analysis portal is disposed in the internal area, and includes a sensing portion and an investigation portion. The sensing portion has at least one sensor, and the investigation portion that includes a computing device having a health screener. The sensing portion of the analysis portal comes into contact with a biological material of the individual, and the health screener is configured to determine at least one characteristic of the biological material. The computing device is communicatively coupled to the sensors and the display.
Reduced-pressure dressings, systems, and methods for use with linear wounds
Systems, methods, and dressings for treating a linear wound, such as an incision, on a patient are presented. The systems, dressings, and methods include a sealing ring that helps form a fluid seal around the linear wound. In one instance, a sealing material is extruded around the linear wound to help form a seal. In another instance, a sealing ring is coupled to a lower portion of a dressing bolster to form a seal. Other systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed.
DEBRIDING WOUND DRESSING, PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE AND USEFUL ARTICLES THEREOF
This invention describes a wound dressing product for active continuous debridement of devitalized tissues in non-healing wounds including diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, burn injuries and other etiologies. The present invention pertains to the principle of continuous wound debridement which makes necrotic tissue more susceptible for removal and hence enhances progressive wound healing. The dressing contains an active ingredient, such as collagenase which serves to debride wounds in-situ. In the present invention purified Collagenase (90% pure) was deposited onto several wound dressing materials. A key feature of this invention is that the activity level of the Collagenase used was substantially preserved.
COMBINATION HANGER ARM EXTENSION AND PUMP COVER FOR A WOUND THERAPY DEVICE
A combination hanger arm extension and pump cover device can be used with an instillation unit. The device includes a body portion that has a first end and a second end. A hook extends from the first end, and a tab extends from the body proximate the hook. A panel is disposed proximate the second end. A substantially rectangular sleeve extends at least partially through the body. The sleeve is disposed between the first and second end.
SKIN CLOSURE TAPE OR REINFORCING TAPE USED AFTER SKIN SUTURE
Problem
To provide a skin closure tape or a reinforcing tape used after skin-suture.
Solution
A skin closure tape or a reinforcing tape used after skin-suture that includes a backing made of at least a nonwoven fabric and an adhesion layer disposed on a surface on one side of the backing. A plurality of resin stripes are disposed on a surface on another side or/and the surface on the one side of the backing. The plurality of the resin stripes extend in a longitudinal direction of the backing.
Protective splint kit for the treatment of joint pain and wounds
A kit for assembling a device designed to prevent flexing of a joint to reduce joint pain or to prevent reopening of a wound over said joint. The kit allows a user to assemble a device of any desired size or shape.
METHOD OF PREPARING A WOUND DRESSING
A method of preparing a wound dressing includes coating a support layer with an adhesive layer and forming a pattern of depressions in the adhesive layer on an edge portion of the wound dressing, with the pattern of depressions being in the adhesive layer and not penetrating the support layer. The method includes forming a plurality of through-going holes in a central portion of the wound dressing, with the through-going holes penetrating both the support layer and the adhesive layer and each of the plurality of through-going holes at least as large in the support layer as in the adhesive layer.
ABSORBENT CORE FOR AN ABSORBENT ARTICLE
An absorbent core for an absorbent article is provided an absorbent material, the absorbent core comprising one or more first zones comprising a first amount of absorbent material and one or more second zones comprising a second amount of absorbent material, wherein each second zone is at least partly delimited from the other second zones by the one or more first zones characterized in that the first amount of bulk absorbent material is different than the second amount of absorbent material, each amount of absorbent material being determined as weight per unit area.
Extensible Dressings
The present invention relates to dressings such as bandages improved extensibility. The present invention further relates to dressings comprising an absorbent body and backing layer having improved extensibility.
