A planar separation component for gas chromatograph includes a substrate made of aluminum, a porous anodic aluminum oxide separation member, and a cover unit. The substrate has a planar body, and a first flow channel having a first inlet and a first outlet. The separation member is formed on the substrate, and has a channel-defining wall defining the first flow channel and a plurality of nanosized pores in spatial communication with the first flow channel. The cover unit is bonded to the planar body for covering the first flow channel. Methods for manufacturing the planar separation component and separating a mixture containing compounds different in boiling point using the planar separation component are also disclosed.
Production of chemical reactors
A method for producing a chemical reactor, wherein the chemical reactor comprises one or more effective channels which comprise pillar structures, an input connected to one of the effective channels to allow fluid/gas into the effective channels and an output connected to one of the effective channels to remove at least one component of the liquid/gas. The method comprises obtaining an initial design of the reactor, further introducing into the initial design at least a structured area positioned adjacent to an effective channel of the one or more effective channels located at the edge of the initial design, the structured area not being fluidly connected to one of the effective channels, to obtain a further design and the production of the reactor according to the further design.
VERSATILE TUBE-FREE JET FOR GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY DETECTOR
A jet injector for a GC that includes a body, a skirt extending away from the body; and a bore that extends through the skirt and the body to create an inlet and an outlet for the jet injector.
GAS SEPARATION SYSTEM
A gas separation system includes a separation column for separating components contained in sample gas, a sample gas supplier fluidly connected to an inlet of the separation column for supplying sample gas to the separation column, a detector fluidly connected to an outlet of the separation column, a collection tube filled with an adsorbent having a property of adsorbing a target component in the sample gas under a condition of a first temperature or less and desorbing the adsorbed target component under a condition of a second temperature or more higher than the first temperature, a temperature adjuster for adjusting a temperature of the collection tube, a collection container for collecting the target component, and a switching mechanism for switching between a state in which the collection tube is connected to an outlet of the detector and a state in which the collection tube is connected to the collection container.
Carbon dioxide sorbents for air quality control
Carbon dioxide and VOC sorbents that include a porous support impregnated with an amine compound are provided. The sorbents include a gas-adsorbing material coated onto the porous support. The gas-adsorbing material includes a polyamine which is produced using a process that is free of formaldehyde as a reaction product and/or a reactant.
SULFUR CHEMILUMINESCENCE DETECTOR
A sulfur chemiluminescence detector includes a heating furnace 210 that includes a gas passage 211 which is a passage extending to left and right, in which an end portion on an outlet side of a column 140 of a gas chromatogram is inserted into an end portion on an inlet side, and a heating means 215 for heating the gas passage, a reaction cell 231 configured to cause gas that has passed through the gas passage to react with ozone, a photodetector 233 configured to detect light emitted from the reaction cell, a housing 240 that houses the heating furnace, the reaction cell, and the photodetector, and an interface 250 that is attached to penetrate a wall of the housing and provided with a column passage 251 through which the column 140 is inserted and a heating means 252 for heating the column passage 251. In the sulfur chemiluminescence detector, the housing is configured to be able to hold the heating furnace in either a state in which the end portion on the inlet side of the gas passage is directed to right or a state in which the end portion on the inlet side is directed to left, and is configured to allow the interface to be attached to either a right wall 242 or a left wall 243. In this manner, the sulfur chemiluminescence detector can be applied to GC systems having various configurations.
Sorbent compositions having amorphous halogen species for the sequestration of contaminants
Methods for the manufacture of sorbent compositions, sorbent compositions and methods for using the sorbent compositions. The methods include the utilization of an acidic halogen solution as a source of a halogen species that is dispersed on a solid sorbent. The use of the acidic halogen solution results in a highly active halogen species that demonstrates improved efficacy for the removal of heavy metal(s) from a flue gas. The sorbent composition includes a substantially amorphous halogen species associated with a solid sorbent such as powdered activated carbon (PAC).
Focusing agents and methods of using same
A method for reducing the variability, as measured by relative standard deviation (RSD), of an analytical testing technique is provided.
