Absorber column and process for cleaning crude synthesis gas

The invention relates to an absorber column and to the use thereof for separation of unwanted, especially acidic, gas constituents, for example carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, from a crude synthesis gas by absorption with an absorbent, especially under low load states of the absorber column in relation to the synthesis gas velocity. According to the invention, a defined concentration of carbon dioxide in the clean synthesis gas is established by mixing at least a portion of the absorbent regenerated by flash regeneration with the absorbent regenerated by means of hot regeneration prior to the recycling thereof into the absorber column.

The modular units may be housed in standard shipping containers and installed on cargo ships. The modules can be removed and replaced while docking with minimal disruption to ship and port operations.

PROCESS AND PLANT FOR THE PURIFICATION OF RAW SYNTHESIS GAS

A process for the stepwise separation of accompanying gases from a raw synthesis gas stream by a liquid absorbent countercurrently guided through all process steps and circulated via regeneration plants, wherein either the accompanying gases H.sub.2S, COS and CO.sub.2 are separated in a common absorption step or, in one of the selective absorption steps chiefly H.sub.2S and COS are separated and in the next step in flow direction of the gas chiefly CO.sub.2 is separated, and in the last step a separation of accompanying gas residues (fine wash) is effected, wherein before the separation of H.sub.2S and COS an absorption step chiefly for the separation of aromatics and subsequently an absorption step chiefly for the separation of methyl mercaptan is carried out.

CO2 RECOVERY UNIT AND CO2 RECOVERY METHOD

A CO.sub.2 recovery unit includes a CO.sub.2 absorber that brings a gas having a low CO.sub.2 concentration into countercurrent contact with a CO.sub.2 absorbent to remove CO.sub.2 from the gas. The CO.sub.2 recovery unit further includes a first absorbent circulation line that supplies a CO.sub.2 absorbent from a first CO.sub.2 absorption section as a first circulation solution to an upper side of a first CO.sub.2 absorption section; a second absorbent circulation line that supplies a CO.sub.2 absorbent from a second CO.sub.2 absorption section as a second circulation solution to an upper side of a second CO.sub.2 absorption section; and an absorbent discharge line that discharges a part of the first circulation solution from the first absorbent circulation line and supply the part of the first circulation solution as a discharged solution to the second absorbent circulation section.
