Landfill Gas Processing Systems and Methods
A gas processing system for recovering methane gas from a landfill includes a high pressure main absorber plus a relatively low pressure one. The low pressure absorber receives a gas stream from an equally low pressure flash tank. This low pressure gas stream consists mostly of carbon dioxide and methane. The methane would normally be lost due to the high cost of recompressing the carbon dioxide, but by running this mixture of carbon dioxide and methane through the low pressure absorber with a slip stream of cold absorbent, a large portion of the carbon dioxide can be removed with negligible methane losses. The remaining methane can be recycled through the high pressure main absorber without having to recompress the removed portion of carbon dioxide.
Peroxycarboxylic acid scrubber assembly
A scrubbing assembly for treating malodorous air by chemical scrubbing one or more chemical components from an influent airflow, particularly one or more chemical components that have become airborne from chemical intervention solutions used during food processing, such as vapors from peroxycarboxylic acid solutions used during food processing. The peroxycarboxylic acid vapors are removed from air in a continuous manner within the scrubber assembly utilizing a neutralizing chemical solution to provide a treated effluent airflow that can be returned back to the point of use area from which the malodorous air was removed for treatment.
APPARATUSES AND PROCESSES FOR THE RECOVERY OF CARBON DIOXIDE STREAMS
Processes and apparatuses for recovering a high purity carbon dioxide stream. A first separation zone that may include a cryogenic fractionation column provides the high-purity CO.sub.2 stream. A vapor stream from the cryogenic fractionation column is passed to a second separation zone to separate the CO.sub.2 from the other components. The second separation zone may include a pressure swing adsorption unit or a solvent separation unit. The second separation zone provides a hydrogen enriched gas stream that may be used in a gas turbine. The second stream from the second separation zone includes carbon dioxide and, after a pressure increase in a compressor, may be recycled to the first separation zone.
Systems and methods for processing gases
The invention includes a gas processing system for transforming a hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into outflow gas products, where the system includes a gas delivery subsystem, a plasma reaction chamber, and a microwave subsystem, with the gas delivery subsystem in fluid communication with the plasma reaction chamber, so that the gas delivery subsystem directs the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into the plasma reaction chamber, and the microwave subsystem directs microwave energy into the plasma reaction chamber to energize the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas, thereby forming a plasma in the plasma reaction chamber, which plasma effects the transformation of a hydrocarbon in the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into the outflow gas products, which comprise acetylene and hydrogen. The invention also includes methods for the use of the gas processing system.
Method for recovering CO.SUB.2 .in the Rectisol process and recovery system
A method for recovering CO.sub.2 in the Rectisol process. The method includes at least the following steps: performing reduced-pressure flash distillation treatment on the CO.sub.2-rich methanol liquid, and outputing the CO.sub.2 desorbed gas obtained after the reduced-pressure flash distillation treatment as a product gas; performing heat exchange flash distillation treatment on a first methanol treatment liquid obtained after the reduced-pressure flash distillation treatment, and outputing the CO.sub.2 desorbed gas obtained after the heat exchange flash distillation treatment as a product gas; performing vacuum flash distillation treatment on a second methanol treatment liquid obtained after the heat exchange flash distillation treatment, and outputing the CO.sub.2 desorbed gas obtained after the vacuum flash distillation treatment as a product gas. Reduced-pressure flash distillation treatment, heat exchange flash distillation treatment and vacuum flash distillation treatment are sequentially performed on the CO.sub.2-rich methanol liquid in this method.

PROCESS FOR HYDROTREATING A FEED STREAM COMPRISING A BIORENEWABLE FEEDSTOCK WITH TREATMENT OF AN OFF-GAS STREAM
A process for hydrotreating a feed stream comprising a biorenewable feedstock is disclosed. The process comprises hydrotreating the feed stream in the presence of a hydrotreating hydrogen stream and a hydrotreating catalyst to provide a hydrotreated stream. The hydrotreated stream is separated into a hydrotreated liquid stream and a hydrotreated gas stream. The hydrotreated liquid stream is subjected to stripping to provide a stripper off-gas stream. At least a portion of the stripper off-gas stream is contacted with a caustic stream to provide a sulfur-lean gas stream and a sulfur-rich caustic stream. The sulfur-rich caustic stream is further treated to provide a treated gas stream.
Continuous biomass extraction system and process
A method for producing valuable organic liquid from a biomass wherein a heated gas is mixed with a biomass to produce an enriched organic vapor and a biomass waste product. The biomass waste product is separated from the enriched organic vapor. The enriched organic vapor is cooled to produce a liquid organic oil and the liquid organic oil is collected. A system for producing the liquid organic oil including a first separation unit to separate an enriched organic vapor and a biomass waste product. The enriched organic vapor and the biomass waste product are generated from mixing a heated gas and a biomass. The system also includes a wet scrubber for cooling the enriched organic vapor to generate an enriched organic smoke. The organic smoke can be transformed to the liquid organic oil in an electrostatic precipitator.
