Apparatus and Method for Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide Enrichment of Atmospheric Air
An apparatus utilizes a membrane unit to capture components from atmospheric air, including oxygen and carbon dioxide, resulting in a permeate stream having an enriched concentration of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Alternatively, the membrane unit may be utilized to form a permeate stream having a permeate of enriched fast gas components. The permeate stream is thereafter directed to a permeate processing facility which may include a second stage of permeate enrichment, a flue gas generator, or a carbon dioxide sequestration facility for processing of an enriched stream of carbon dioxide. Among other carbon dioxide sequestration facilities, the carbon dioxide may be biologically sequestered by a facility of photosynthetic organisms, such as trees in an orchard, crops, or the like. The membrane unit may be shell-less and utilize a vacuum or positive pressure to facilitate the flow of fast gas components through a selective barrier of the membrane.

CARBON DIOXIDE REDUCTION FILTER
An illustrated view of an exemplary air filter for reducing emissions is presented. The air filter is useful for removing toxic gases from the air surrounding a combustion engine of a vehicle is presented. The air filter is useful for scrubbing the ambient air for removal of toxic contaminants such as carbon dioxide and thus reducing harmful emissions of a vehicle. The air filter though described for a vehicle can also be used in industry settings as well as at home. The air filter is recyclable. Although a vehicle is shown, it is an example only. Other applications are possible and have been contemplated for the air filter 100 including, but not limited to, commercial applications, home applications, industrial applications, etc.
METHOD FOR DISTILLING A GAS STREAM CONTAINING OXYGEN
A process for producing biomethane by scrubbing a biogas feed stream includes introducing the feed gas stream into a pretreatment unit wherein a CO.sub.2-depleted gas stream is partially separated from a CO.sub.2 stream and an oxygen stream and is compressed to a pressure P1 above 25 bar abs. Subjecting the CO.sub.2-depleted gas stream to cryogenic separation in a distillation column to separate a nitrogen stream and produce a CH.sub.4-enriched stream, the distillation column comprising n plates, n being an integer between 8 and 100. Recovering a pressurized CH.sub.4-enriched stream by pumping the CO.sub.2-depleted gas stream to a pressure P2 above 25 bar absolute.
