PRODUCTION OF BIOMETHANE USING A HIGH RECOVERY MODULE

The invention relates to a process for recovering methane from digester biogas or landfill gas. More specifically, the invention pertains to biomethane production that substantially removes carbon dioxide from a digester biogas or landfill gas using first, second, and third purification stages each comprising one or more membranes selective for carbon dioxide over methane. A retentate from the first stage is separated by the one more membranes of the second stage into a second state retentate, forming a biomethane product gas. A permeate from the first stage is separated by the one or more membranes of the third stage into a third stage retentate and a third stage permeate. Recovery of methane from the biogas is boosted by feeding the third stage retentate to the first purification stage. The recovery may be optionally further boosted by compressing the second stage permeate with the biogas at a main compressor.

Oxygen concentrating self-rescuer device

A self-rescuer device comprises an intake pump that creates a gas stream. The gas stream enters a first sieve that separates carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and oxygen from the gas stream to create a mixture. The remaining gas stream flows to a second sieve that separates nitrogen from the remaining gas stream and vents the residual gas to outside of the self-rescuer device through a residual output. The separated mixture is directed to a gas processor separates the oxygen from the mixture. A nitrogen storage canister coupled to the separated output of the second sieve stores the separated nitrogen, and an oxygen storage canister coupled to the separated output of the first sieve stores and concentrates the separated oxygen until a purity threshold is met. Habitable nitrogen and oxygen are metered from their storage canisters and supplied to a user through a breathing mask within an exterior mask shell.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MULTI-STAGE AIR DEHUMIDIFICATION AND COOLING
20190176084 · 2019-06-13 ·

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for dehumidifying air by establishing a humidity gradient across a water selective permeable membrane in a dehumidification unit. Water vapor from relatively humid atmospheric air entering the dehumidification unit is extracted by the dehumidification unit without substantial condensation into a low pressure water vapor chamber operating at a partial pressure of water vapor lower than the partial pressure of water vapor in the relatively humid atmospheric air. For example, water vapor is extracted through a water permeable membrane of the dehumidification unit into the low pressure water vapor chamber. As such, the air exiting the dehumidification unit is less humid than the air entering the dehumidification unit. The low pressure water vapor extracted from the air is subsequently condensed and removed from the system at ambient conditions.

The present invention relates to a process for obtaining pure helium using a first membrane separation stage a second membrane separation stage and a third membrane separation stage. The first membrane separation stage is supplied with a first helium-containing feed mixture, the second membrane separation stage with a second helium-containing feed mixture and the third membrane separation stage with a third helium-containing feed mixture a first permeate and a first retentate are formed in the first membrane separation stage, a second permeate and a second retentate in the second membrane separation stage and a third permeate and a third retentate in the third membrane separation stage. The first feed mixture is formed using at least part of a helium-containing starting mixture. The second feed mixture is formed using at least part of the first permeate. The third feed mixture is formed using at least part of the second permeate. The third permeate is at least partly processed by pressure swing adsorption to obtain pure helium and a residual mixture at least some of the residual mixture is used in the formation of the second or third feed mixture.

Universal grapple overshot for fishing irregular shaped objects

Systems and methods for retrieving equipment from a wellbore of a subterranean well include an overshot housing having a central axis. The overshot housing is a tubular shaped member with a housing bore. An internal sleeve is located within the overshot housing. The internal sleeve is a tubular shaped member with a sleeve bore. The internal sleeve is axially moveable within the overshot housing. A catching net is located radially outward of the internal sleeve, within the overshot housing. The catching net moveable between a contracted position and an extended position. The catching net has a shorter axial length and a wider radial width in the contracted position than in the extended position. An anchoring assembly is located at a downhole end of the catching net. Methods and systems for treating a switchable polarity material, and related methods of liquid treatment

A method of treating a switchable polarity material comprises introducing a first feed stream comprising a solvent and a non-polar form of the switchable polarity material to a first side of a gas diffusion membrane. A second feed stream comprising an acid gas is introduced to a second side of the gas diffusion membrane opposing the first side of the gas diffusion membrane. Molecules of the acid gas of the second feed stream are diffused across the gas diffusion membrane and into the first feed stream to form a product stream comprising a polar form of the switchable polarity material. A treatment system for a switchable polarity material, and a method of liquid treatment are also described.
