Surgical dressing for drains
12310824 · 2025-05-27 · ·

A surgical dressing is disclosed. The surgical dressing may have a dressing element, a connection element, and a tube element. The dressing element may be applied to a wound site of an organic body. The dressing element and tube element may be coupled at opposing ends of the connection element. The tube element may be coupled to a tube extending from the wound site. A secondary layer may be coupled to the connection element to retain the connection element in a stretched condition. The secondary layer may be removed from the connection element to enable the connection element to stretch or retract in response to forces applied to or removed from the tube.

When configuring a skin protection sheet covering the skin disease site (including a potential skin disease site, hereinafter the same) of the user by affixing it to the inside surface of the undergarment of the user, a protective sheet main part configured in a gathered shape is provided by forming three-layered surface parts respectively formed by two fold-backs crossing in a predetermined direction at a plurality of positions in a predetermined direction, of a sheet material formed of a nonwoven fabric material, and by providing suture parts sutured in the predetermined direction by a thread material at a predetermined spacing in a direction intersecting the predetermined direction, and one, two, or more sheet affixation parts are provided on one surface of the protective sheet main part for making the protective sheet main part attachable to and removable from the inside surface of an undergarment.

Substrate
12310875 · 2025-05-27 · ·

A substrate that can be applied to a user's body part having a region of temporally-controlled elasticity that transitions between a first state and a second state when activated, wherein the first state is more relaxed than the second state, and the substrate can at least partially revert from the second state to the first state over an extended time period resulting from the temporally-controlled elasticity of the substrate, and wherein the substrate can apply a treatment/mechanical force to the body part, as the substrate transitions from the second state to the first state.

Multilayer Garments Worn During Wound Care

A wound recovery garment includes a multilayer fabric. The multilayer fabric comprises at least first layer including opalescent microparticles, a second layer for absorbing and holding moisture, and a third layer adjacent to tissue or a wound enabled to absorb moisture and provide microsensor beads to an immediate area to detect a state of the tissue or wound. The first layer is formed from compressive, elastic material that supplies compression forces to tissue. The first layer is an elastic exterior layer incorporating the opalescent microparticles and is visible to outside viewers. The microparticles change color according to a stretch factor of the first layer indicating a pressure reading to the viewer.

COLOR-CHANGING ANTIBACTERIAL NANOFIBER MEMBRANE AND METHOD

A bacteria-responsive color-changing, core-shell nanofiber, comprising polyurethane (PU), a hemicyanine-based chromogenic probe localized in the core-shell nanofiber near the surface of the shell, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) dopant in the shell, the hemicyanine-based chromogenic probe further comprising a labile ester linkage that is enzymatically cleavable by bacterial lipase released from clinically relevant strains of bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Manifolding apparatus or dressing exhibiting low tissue ingrowth and negative-pressure treatment method

An apparatus for filling a wound can include an array of at least four truncated ellipsoids interconnected to define at least one fluid path through, for example perpendicular to, the array. The longest principal axis of each ellipsoid may be perpendicular to the array. Each truncated ellipsoid may be a spheroid and/or may include an approximately elliptical contact surface at each contact surface between two interconnected ellipsoids. Each fluid pathway may have four continuously-curved concave sides and may have a parallelogram-shaped cross-section with continuously-curved concave edges. A dressing may include the apparatus, a dressing layer coupled to the apparatus, a backing layer disposed over a surface of the dressing layer opposite the apparatus, and an attachment device disposed on at least a margin of the backing layer. Methods of treating various tissue sites using the apparatus or dressing with negative-pressure therapy are also disclosed.

Wound treatment apparatuses

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed relating to the creation and use of bespoke wound fillers and other wound treatment apparatuses. Some embodiments provide for the creation of bespoke wound fillers based on characteristics of a wound. Certain embodiments also include the use of bespoke wound fillers in combination with negative pressure to treat a wound.

REDUCED PRESSURE APPARATUS AND METHODS

Some embodiments have a pump assembly mounted to or supported by a dressing for reduced pressure wound therapy. The dressing can have visual pressure, saturation, and/or temperature sensors to provide a visual indication of the level of pressure, saturation, and/or temperature within the dressing. Additionally, the pump assembly can have a pressure sensor in communication with the flow pathway through the pump, and at least one switch or button supported by the housing, the at least one switch or button being accessible to a user and being in communication with the controller. The pump assembly can have a controller supported within or by the housing, the controller being configured to control an operation of the pump. The pump can be configured to be sterilized following the assembly of the pump such that all of the components of the pump have been sterilized.
