Extended wear-time dressing
As an example, in some embodiments is a dressing that may comprise a manifold, a bioresorbable component, and a degradation-modulating component. The degradation-modulating component may cover two or more surfaces of the bioresorbable component. The degradation-modulating component may be further configured to modulate degradation of the bioresorbable component.
Absorbent wound dressing
The present invention concerns extensible absorbent wound dressings. The wound dressing has a wound contact layer having a proximal surface facing toward the wound and a distal surface facing away from the wound, and a backing layer having a proximal surface facing toward the wound and a distal surface facing away from the wound, the backing layer having an absorbent region located on a proximal surface thereof, the absorbent region comprising a plurality of discrete absorbent members, wherein the backing layer is configured to be positioned over the wound contact layer, such that the absorbent region is located adjacent to the distal surface of the wound contact layer, and wherein the absorbent region and the wound contact layer are configured to be detached at least in an area inside a perimeter of the absorbent region. The absorbent wound dressings of the present invention can be used to dress so-called truly three-dimensional anatomical areas, such as for example a knee or an elbow.
Bandage, in particular a compression bandage
The invention relates to a bandage (10) comprising a flat material web (12) having a first (14) and a second (16) side and a first (18) and a second (20) end spaced apart in the longitudinal direction of the bandage (10), a wound pad (22) on the first side of the flat material web (12), a pressure application means (32) on the second side (16) of the flat material web (12) opposite the wound pad (22), a securing element (24) on the second end (20) of the flat material web (12) for securing the second end (20) of the flat material web (12) on or to itself for a bandage (10) positioned on a carrier.
First aid device
A first-aid device for controlling a bleeding injury of a limb, said first-aid device comprising, at least in use: an emergency bandage having a blood absorbing portion with a central point, configured for absorbing blood from the injury, and at least one bandage strap connected at least indirectly to the blood absorbing portion and configured for securely mounting the blood absorbing portion to the limb with said blood absorbing portion being positioned over the injury; and a tourniquet having a tourniquet longitudinal axis and attached to the emergency bandage so that, in a plan view of the device, said tourniquet longitudinal axis is spaced from said central point of the emergency bandage to a distance required for limiting blood flow to the injury, said tourniquet having at least one tourniquet strap extending along the tourniquet longitudinal axis and configured for securely mounting the tourniquet to the limb.
ELASTOMERIC ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present invention includes disposable absorbent articles, such as disposable undergarment, diapers, other garments, and wound care dressings, having an elastomeric material disposed between two substrate layers and an absorbent core system that disposed on top of or between the two substrate layers. This invention may also include a disposable article having an elastomeric material disposed between two substrate layers without an absorbent core. The inclusion of an stretch adhesive in the construction of the article in various portions of the article (e.g., fastening tabs, front and/or rear sections, entire article, etc.) results in improved securement of the article to a wearer for reducing the risk of leakage and further improving comfort for the wearer. Furthermore, the inclusion of a stretch adhesive can provide a smooth contoured fit to a wearer, thereby improving appearance and self-confidence for the wearer.
Wound bolster dressing and method of use
A wound bolster includes an inner non-adherent face, a compressible and expandable body, and an outer elastic face where the inner non-adherent face is configured for contact with a wound on a subject and the outer elastic face is configured, upon securing of the wound bolster to a periphery of the wound, to generate a compressive force within the compressible and expandable body in response to applied deformation, which is transmitted as a normal compressive force to the subject.
Wound dressing and manufacturing method thereof
A wound dressing is provided in some embodiments of the present disclosure. The wound dressing includes a porous substrate and a functional layer disposed on the porous substrate. The functional layer is charged or has conductivity. A method of manufacturing a wound dressing is further provided in some embodiments of the present disclosure.
Sensor integrated dressings and systems
In some cases, a wound dressing and a method for coating a wound dressing is provided. A first coating may be applied on a first side of a substantially flexible substrate of the wound dressing. The first side of the substrate may support a plurality of electronic components, electronic tracks, and a plurality of connectors between the electronic components and electronic tracks. The first coating may be applied to at least one connector of the plurality of connectors or to at least one electronic components of the plurality of electronic components to reinforce the at least one connector or the at least one electronic components.
System and methods for the treatment of wounds with negative pressure and instillation of peroxide pyruvic acid
A system and method for treating a tissue site is described having a dressing adapted to contact the tissue site and provide a fluid seal, and a solution source fluidly coupled to the dressing and adapted to deliver an antimicrobial solution comprising a peroxy -keto carboxylic acid, such as peroxy pyruvic acid, to the dressing. The system may include a negative-pressure source fluidly coupled to the dressing and adapted to provide negative pressure to the dressing after delivery of the antimicrobial fluid to the dressing.
SENSOR INTEGRATED DRESSINGS AND SYSTEMS
In some cases, a wound dressing includes a substantially flexible substrate with a first, wound-facing side supporting a plurality of electronic components and a second side opposite the first side, a wicking layer in contact with the second side of the substrate, the wicking layer configured to facilitate passage of fluid, a substantially non-stretchable coating applied to at least some of the plurality of electronic components, a substantially stretchable coating applied to the first side of the substrate, the stretchable coating applied over the substantially non-stretchable coating, a wound contact layer in contact with the stretchable coating, the wound contact layer configured to adhere to a wound, and a protective layer applied to the wound contact layer, the protective layer configured to be removed to expose the wound contact layer. In some cases, a method of manufacturing the wound dressing.
