Apparatuses and methods for wound therapy
Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a wound packing material, suitable for use in negative pressure wound therapy, comprising a body of a porous material, the body comprising frangible regions defining a plurality of portions, the frangible regions allowing the portions to be selectively removed from the body. The wound packing material can be shaped to partially or fully surround a secondary wound packing member, such as a stabilizing structure. Some embodiments further relate to methods of manufacturing the wound packing material, and to methods of its use.
Dry pad
Provided is a dry pad, including a wound-covering membrane formed by arranging a fiber containing a hydrophilic polymer that is swollen by an exudate secreted from a wound, a hydrophobic polymer, and a dry wound-healing agent that is released through swelling of the hydrophilic polymer and is difficult to store in a liquid phase, and a first release member, which is a support on which the fiber is arranged and which is separated from the wound-covering membrane.
PRESSURE SENSOR
A sensor suitable for measuring the pressure applied by a bandage is provided. The sensor comprises an elongate strip having a sensor region. The sensor region comprises: a base plate; a top plate; a compressible spacer positioned between the base plate and the top plate and, an electronic sensing apparatus configured to detect distance between the top plate and the base plate. The top plate is arranged to compress the compressible spacer and arranged such that the bandage exerts a force on the surface of the top plate perpendicular to the surface when the sensor is positioned between the bandage and a limb.
SYNDESMOSIS REDUCTION DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
An improved syndesmosis reduction device has a wrap of elastic material extending a length L from a first end to a second end with an open window or slot positioned in an intermediate portion of the wrap spaced from the ends. The wrap is configured to achieve a reduction of an injured ankle and is facilitated by the elastic nature of the ankle wrap. The reduction is facilitated by circumferentially wrapping the wrap from a leg to a foot or vice versa in a compressive fashion by securing the first end by wrapping and stretching the wrap to the second end. The window or slot is to permit an incision at the ankle for hardware placement without the need to remove the wrap and without loss of the reduction achieved.
COMPRESSION STOCKING
A compression stocking having shape memory, heat-shrinkable thermoplastic material, wherein the stocking is configured to establish, in use, a compression contact with at least one of a leg and a foot of a user upon the application of an amount of heat to the shape memory, heat-shrinkable thermoplastic material, wherein the thermoplastic material is a polymer that has a glass transition temperature below ?10? C., has crystallinity with a melting temperature (Tm) between 30-50? C. and a heat of fusion of at least 10 J/g, as determined using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) (?40? C./10.0 (K/min)/100? C.) as set out by the ASTM D3418:2003.
Limb and Torso Cover with Elastic Closure
An elasticized protective covering for limb or torso, comprising self-encased elastic band or bands integrated at the open end or ends of the cover, made of proprietary polymeric material to offer simple, effective and affordable protection for areas of concern and healing sites and prevention of contamination and infection throughout treatment and recovery while maintaining daily hygiene for bathing or showering and eliminating the need for cumbersome and constricting straps, tourniquets, adhesives, Velcro, drawstring or gasket closures.
Textile part
A textile part, in particular a textile orthopedic aid, having a textile main panel as well as at least one functional element from plastics material which is disposed on the main panel, wherein at least one planar cover element which engages only in portions across the functional element disposed in the main panel and which also extends across the main panel is provided, wherein the cover element is connected to the main panel and/or the functional element, and the functional element is connected to the main panel in a materially integral manner.

Mucoadhesive patch and uses thereof
The present invention provides a mucoadhesive patch for attachment to a mucosal surface in a patient, the patch comprising a fibrous polymeric mat substrate and a plurality of polymeric flock particles that are attached to the substrate.
POLYMER GEL PRODUCTS WITH PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BIOMECHANICAL BENEFITS AND/OR MONITORING
Various embodiments of polymer gel products are described herein. A support pad comprising a viscoelastic polymer based gel substrate having a selected thickness and flexibility, and at least one sensor embedded within the gel substrate proximal to the surface of the support pad that is adjacent to the portion of the user's body. A method of embedding at least one sensor into a vis-polymer gel substrate. An impact dissipating pad insertable into a body protection apparatus and comprising a viscoelastic polymer based gel substrate having a selected thickness and first and second surfaces. A compression wrap comprising a gel band that is stretchable and a backing member adjacent to the gel band, wherein the backing member is stretchable in a similar manner as the gel band. An anti-vibration glove comprising at least one gel material disposed in the glove to cover at least a portion of the user's hand.
