MEDICAL ADHESIVE ARTICLES HAVING A LOW EFFECTIVE MODULUS OF ELASTICITY
Medical adhesive articles include a layer of adhesive and a modified substrate layer where the layer has a plurality of cuts arrayed in a pattern that may be random or the pattern can be arrayed along at least one axis. The cuts are gaps, but the gaps are not visible to the naked eye when the adhesive article is in an unstressed state, and at least some of the cuts become gaps that are visible to the naked eye and form apertures when the adhesive article is in a stressed state. The adhesive articles can be used to adhere a medical device to skin.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR NEGATIVE PRESSURE THERAPY
Devices and methods for edema management, e.g., reducing edema, are disclosed. A treatment device may include a chamber defining a treatment space, the chamber being fabricated from a substantially impermeable material and configured to conform to the shape of the periphery, an inner surface of the chamber including a plurality of surface patterns, the chamber having a sealing portion at a base; and at least one conduit connected to the chamber and in fluid communication with the treatment space so as to enable the application of a negative pressure to the treatment space. The treatment device may be configured for reducing edema at a target site on a subject. The treatment device may be further configured for edema management, e.g., reducing edema, of at least one breast, e.g., both breasts, of a subject.
MAGNETIC DRESSING AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a magnetic dressing and a preparation method and use thereof, belonging to the technical field of pharmaceutical preparations. The magnetic dressing includes a magnetic layer, a drug-loading layer, and a protective layer that are stacked in sequence, where the magnetic layer includes polyvinyl alcohol, gluten, and iron particles. In the present disclosure, a swallowed magnetic dressing is controlled by an external magnetic field, and the magnetic dressing is moved to a pathological position by changing a direction of the external magnetic field; after the external magnetic field is removed, the magnetic dressing changes from a ring to a sheet, thereby completing attachment of an entire lesion surface to complete treatment by autonomous drug release.
Securement device with integrated intra-luminal electro-conduction and external tamper sensitivity
A catheter securement device with integrated intra-luminal electro-conduction, and external tamper sensitivity, for tamper or movement detection. The catheter securement device accordingly can detect movement or tampering of an inserted catheter, which will allow a healthcare provider to take action to prevent movement or removal of the catheter from a patient.
Automatic wound coupling detection in negative pressure wound therapy systems
Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems and methods for operating the systems are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system includes a negative pressure source, a sensor, and a controller. The negative pressure source can provide negative pressure via a fluid flow path to the wound dressing. The sensor can monitor pressure in the fluid flow path. The controller can determine whether the wound dressing is coupled to a wound from a change in magnitude of pressure in the fluid flow path over time being more indicative of a steady state condition than a chaotic condition while the negative pressure source maintains negative pressure in the fluid flow path within a pressure range. In addition, the controller can output a first indication denoting that the wound dressing is coupled to the wound and a second indication denoting that the wound dressing is not coupled to the wound.
Composition having excellent permeability to water vapour
A novel composition including at least one styrene-block copolymer, at least one plasticiser, and particles of a cross-linked polymer having a carboxylate-group density between 2.0 and 12.0 meq/g and an average pore size between 0.005 and 1.0 μm, usable in particular for creating an elastomer matrix suitable for any device of the type device for medical aims such as a patch, a film, a strip or a dressing, preferably a dressing, intended to be applied onto the skin or suitable for any device of the functional textile type such as a sports item.
A MEDICAL DRESSING COMPRISING A BACKING LAYER WITH THREE DIMENSIONAL FEATURES
Described is a medical dressing having a backing layer containing three dimensional features. The dressing is flexible and has an improved wear time. Also described is a method for preparing such a medical dressing.
Advanced Wound Dressing For Incisional Wounds That Provides Apposition Forces As A Result Of Fluid Absorption
A dressing for the treatment of incisional wounds includes an upper cover, a patient interface layer, and an absorbent material. The upper cover is configured to substantially cover the incisional wound. The upper cover includes a drape and a plurality of spines coupled to the drape. The drape includes a first side and a second, wound-facing side. The patient interface layer is coupled to the second side of the drape and includes a plurality of openings that are configured to receive fluid from the incisional wound. The absorbent material is disposed between the second side of the drape and the patient interface layer.
TRANSDERMAL CARRIER
Improved formulations for topical treatment that ensure at least localized transdermal or systemic delivery of an active agent through skin, nails or hair follicles are disclosed.
