INNER-SIDE PILLAR SUPPORTER
An inner-side pillar supporter according to the present invention includes a plate-shaped pillar including: a fixed portion coming into contact with an inner side of an ankle joint at the malleolus medialis from an inner side of a calcaneus, and an inversion preventing portion formed integrally with the fixed portion to extend over the malleolus medialis; and a fixing member press fixing the fixed portion of the pillar onto the inner side of the ankle joint at the malleolus medialis from the inner side of the calcaneus.
Medical dressing for a convex body part
Disclosed is a medical dressing having a pad and a border portion. The pad can have a rim and the border portion extends along said rim. The medical dressing can be arranged in a first substantially planar configuration and be folded along a first line, and a second portion of said medical dressing is formed and a second substantially cup-shaped configuration. The first portion can be facing and contacting said second portion. Said first substantially planar configuration the first and second portions can be connected by means of a fixed connection along a second line, which defines a second line segment having a first and a second end-point. The first and second line segments are connected at their respective first end-points such that an angle between 90 and 175 degrees is formed between the first and second line segments when the medical dressing is in the first substantially planar configuration.
Anatomical support method using elongate strap support
A material includes a support layer comprising a woven fiber layer less than 30 mils thick. The support layer includes an elongate strap support. The support layer has a ratio of elongation to tensile strength (lb/in-width) that is less than 0.9 in a first direction and greater than 0.9 in a perpendicular second direction. The material additionally includes an adhesive layer on said support layer for adhesive attachment of said support layer to the outer skin surface of a user and a removable cover layer on said adhesive layer. Methods of use of the material and elongate strap support(s) to a human body include providing anatomical support or therapeutic effects.
FRICTION REDUCING DEVICES AND ORTHOPEDIC FOOT INSERTS
Disclosure herein are protective bandage and methods of use and manufacture thereof. The protective bandages can include first and second flexible films and a shear-reducing element. The first flexible film may form a contact layer having a first side opposite a second side. The second flexible film may form a dome attached to and extending over a portion of the first side of the contact layer. The dome may have a height at least partially defined by a side wall and a top portion of the second flexible film. The contact layer may extend beneath the dome and the top portion being freely movable along the first side of the contact layer through a distance related to the height. The shear-reducing element is located inside the hollow dome.
Ankle brace
The present general inventive concept, in various embodiments, includes a brace for protective or therapeutic restraint of the ankle and/or foot. In some embodiments, the brace comprises a holding pocket of flexible material for stabilizing the ankle or foot, a means for releasably and adjustably attaching the holding pocket around the foot and ankle, a first support strap including a means for releasably and adjustably binding the first support strap to itself, a first support cuff including a means for releasably and adjustably tightening the first support cuff upon itself, a second support strap including a means for releasably and adjustably binding the second support strap to itself, and a second support cuff including a means for releasably and adjustably tightening the second support cuff upon itself.
Orthopedic device
An orthopedic device comprises a main body defining an outer surface and a cuff extending from an end portion of the main body with frictional material disposed on an inner surface of the first cuff. A hinge is connected to the main body and terminates along the main body short of the cuff. The cuff is arranged to fold over the outer surface of the main body in a disengaged configuration, such that the outer surface of the first cuff is adjacently against the outer surface of the main body.
Apparatus and method for suspending a residuum protection device
An apparatus suspends a post-amputation residuum protection device for a below the knee amputation. The suspending apparatus comprises an elongated arcuate first shell defining an open interior channel. The first shell is adapted to receive at least a portion of the residuum and the residuum protection device into the interior channel. A flexible second shell includes a circumferential wedge extending radially inwardly from a portion of an inner surface. The second shell is configured to be received within the first shell and adapted to cover the residuum adjacent to the knee. The wedge is adapted to bear against the residuum above the medial femoral condyle such that the wedge is received in the supracondylar space for suspending the residuum protection device.
Negative pressure wound treatment system and method
A negative pressure wound treatment system comprising a bandage portion and a negative pressure portion. The bandage portion includes a dressing portion in contact with a wound and a sealing layer positioned in contact with the dressing portion. The sealing layer includes an adhesive creating a seal around the wound. The negative pressure portion is in fluid communication with the bandage portion and includes a first valve and a second valve. The first valve is in fluid communication with the bandage portion and the negative pressure portion. The second valve is in fluid communication with the negative pressure portion and the surrounding environment. The negative pressure wound treatment system is configured to provide negative pressure to an area sealed by the bandage portion upon the actuation of the negative pressure portion. The negative pressure portion is configured to be actuated by compressing the negative pressure portion while walking.
THIGHS PROTECTOR
A thighs protector is described. The thighs protector comprises an elongated adhesive skin dressing having a first side including an adhesive pattern and a second side including hydrophobic, friction free material. The elongated adhesive skin dressing is configured to cover at least a section of an inner thigh of a human. The elongated adhesive skin dressing has an outer edge which follows an outer extent of a sartorius muscle of the inner thigh and tapers from a first width near a top of the inner thigh to a second width at an inside of a knee. The first width is larger than the second width.
