Stretchable waterproof composite material and a method for its use
10583045 · 2020-03-10 · ·

A waterproof composite material that comprises three layers, a top layer, a middle layer, and a bottom layer. The middle layer is made of foam while the top layer and bottom layer can be made from a variety of films. The top layer and the bottom layer are formed in a quilted pattern. The top layer and the bottom layer are bunched up (meaning there is extra material there allowing more stretch). A method of manufacturing the waterproof composite material includes placing the three layers on (or in), stretching the middle layer, and then applying a quilt (or other) pattern (using heat and/or pressure) which causes the quilted pattern on the top layer and the bottom layer. The natural contraction of the middle layer (which was stretched when the composite was formed) causes bunching of the top layer and the bottom layer.

WOUND THERAPY DEVICE, KIT, AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED APPLICATION TO WOUNDS ON COMPLEX GEOMETRIES
20200069853 · 2020-03-05 ·

A negative pressure wound therapy device, kit, and method are provided for improved treatment of wounds on complex three-dimensional anatomies. The device includes a conformable manifold made of a porous and permeable material with a pattern of cuts designed to transform the manifold from a relaxed, planar state to a pliable three-dimensional state when extended along the lateral axis. The kit further may include a wound interface layer, an adhesive, breathable drape, and a pneumatic connection to a negative pressure wound therapy device. Finally, a method for treating wounds using reduced pressure and the presently disclosed kit is provided.

A brace for treating/preventing carpal tunnel injury including a body having a proximal end and a distal end defining s longitudinal direction, the body including a forearm support at the body proximal end, a wrist support coupled to the forearm support by a neck portion, the wrist support comprising a first palmar strap support, a first member and a second member extending from the wrist support in the longitudinal direction towards the distal end, a distal palmar support, a proximal palmar aperture, a palm band having a second palmar strap support, and a palmar strap, extending between a proximal end attached to the first palmar strap support to a distal end, the palmer strap configured to extend across a portion of the back of the hand and over a purlicue of the hand, the distal end of the palmar strap configured to removably attach to the distal palmar support.

Fabric sleeves covering toe and finger blemishes and treating said blemishes
10568769 · 2020-02-25 ·

A system is provided comprising a columnar sleeve of stretchable fabric, the sleeve produced in various skin tone colors and configured to slip upon an individual toe or finger and an absorbent padding configured for attachment to an inside surface of the sleeve, the padding configured to cover about one half of an interior circumference of the inside surface, the padding optionally infused with at least one of pain killers, antiseptics, and soothing gels. The system also comprises wax paper covering the padding prior to use of the sleeve, an applicator shaped to facilitate slipping the sleeve upon the individual toe or finger, and convex-shaped flex bands placed lengthwise into the sleeve. The flex bands exert downward pressure on one of a toe and a finger and are placed in a U-shape, thus promoting the downward pressure.

ARM SLEEVE THAT PROVIDES ASSISTANCE DURING AN ARM MOTION
20200016009 · 2020-01-16 ·

Implementations of an arm sleeve that provides external assistance to the arm and shoulder during an arm motion are provided. In one implementation, the arm sleeve comprises a framework that includes a torso portion configured to be attached to the torso of a user and an arm portion configured to receive at least a portion of an arm of the user. The framework of the arm sleeve is a unitary construction of interconnected elastic members that define openings therebetween. The interconnected elastic members include a first elastic member configured to play an active part throughout an overhead throwing motion, a second elastic member configured to decrease the concentric contraction force necessary for shoulder abduction during the cocking phase of a throwing motion, and a third elastic member configured to assist eccentrically contracting muscles during the deceleration phase of a throwing motion. In another implementation, the framework of the arm sleeve is encased by an elastomeric cover.
