Systems and methods using: a membrane unit to treat fluids recovered from an oil and gas well are provided. The membrane unit may include a membrane having a porous substrate at. least partially coated with graphene oxide, making the membrane hydrophilic. The membrane separates water from other components within a fluid stream. The membrane unit may include an inlet to receive a fluid stream into the membrane unit. The fluid stream may be pretreated prior to reaching the membrane unit The membrane unit may also include a first outlet in fluid communication with one side of the membrane and a second outlet in fluid communication with the opposite side of the membrane.

The present invention relates to a tangential flow separator element for separating a fluid medium for treatment into a filtrate and a retentate, said separator element comprising a monolithic rigid porous support (2) of rectilinear structure with a plurality of channels (3) formed therein for passing a flow of the fluid medium for treatment between an inlet (6) and an outlet (7) for the retentate, in order to recover a filtrate from the outside surface (5) of the support. According to the invention, the monolithic rigid porous support (2) defines obstacles (9) to the flow of the fluid for treatment, which obstacles extend from the inside walls (31) of said channels, are identical in material and porous texture to the support, and present continuity of material and of porous texture with the support, the obstacles (9) generating variations in the flow sections of the channels.
Biomimetic membranes and methods of making biomimetic membranes
The present disclosure is directed to biomimetic membranes and methods of manufacturing such membranes that include structural features that mimic the structures of cellular membrane channels and produce membrane designs capable of high selectivity and high permeability or absorptivity. The membrane structure, material and chemistry can be selected to perform liquid separations, gas separation and capture, ion transport and adsorption for a variety of applications.
POROUS BODIES WITH ENHANCED CRUSH STRENGTH
A porous body with enhanced fluid transport properties and crush strength is provided. The porous body includes the porous body includes at least 80 percent alpha alumina and having a pore volume from 0.3 mL/g to 1.2 mL/g, a surface area from 0.3 m.sup.2/g to 3.0 m.sup.2/g, and a pore architecture that provides at least one of a tortuosity of 7 or less, a constriction of 4 or less and a permeability of 30 mdarcys or greater, wherein the porous body is a cylinder comprising at least two spaced apart holes that extend through an entire length of the cylinder. The porous body has a flat plate crush strength improved by more than 10% over a porous body cylinder having a same outer diameter and length, but having only a single hole.
POROUS CERAMIC FILTERS AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME
Disclosed herein are filtration articles comprising a porous ceramic structure comprising a plurality of channels separated by a plurality of porous interior walls, and a nanomembrane disposed on at least a portion of a surface of the porous ceramic structure, wherein the nanomembrane comprises nanoparticles of at least one inorganic oxide, and wherein the nanoparticles are present in a concentration ranging from about 0.001 g/L to about 1 g/L based on the total volume of the porous ceramic structure. Methods for making such filtration articles and methods for filtering a particulate from a fluid using such filtration articles are also disclosed herein.
INORGANIC MEMBRANE FILTRATION ARTICLES AND METHODS THEREOF
An inorganic membrane filtration article and methods for making the same. The membrane filtration article includes a sintered flow-through ceramic honeycomb with a plurality of partition walls defining a plurality of open channels from an inlet end of the honeycomb to an outlet end of the honeycomb. The honeycomb is formed from a cordierite composition with low-sodium and/or low-potassium content for enhanced filtration performance.
ASSEMBLED FILTERS FOR THE FILTRATION OF LIQUIDS
A membrane filter includes a plurality of honeycomb ceramic filtering elements, each element including a plurality of parallel ducts separated by walls and open on a face for introduction of the liquid to be filtered, an interstitial volume between the filtering elements, a filtration membrane positioned on the inner surface of the walls of the ducts, wherein the filtering elements are joined together by a curable material that forms after curing a sleeve in the form of a single part joining together, by sealing, all of the filtering elements separated the interstitial volume, the sleeve having a thickness e between 1% and 10% of the length of the filter, and the curable material being present in the open porosity and through the entire thickness of each porous wall forming the elements, over a minimum non-zero height h.

The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to apparatus, systems, and methods for reduction and/or removal of one or more contaminants (e.g., heavy metals, chromium, phosphorous, phosphorous compounds, nitrogen, nitrogen compounds) from a feed composition (e.g., a fluid). Apparatus, systems, and methods, in some embodiments, may be operable to decontaminate a fluid with comparatively little or no contaminant containing waste fluid.

A separator element for obtaining molecular and/or particulate separation by tangential flow of a fluid medium for treatment into a filtrate and a retentate, the element comprising a structure (2) of at least two porous rigid columns (3) made of the same material, positioned side by side to define outside their outside walls a volume (4) for recovering the filtrate, each column (3) presenting internally at least one open structure (5) for passing a flow of the fluid medium, opening out in one of the ends of the porous column for inlet of the fluid medium for treatment and in the other end for outlet of the retentate. The element is a single-piece rigid structure (2) made as a single piece that is uniform and continuous throughout, without any bonds or exogenous additions.
