A process and an apparatus for making a refastenable side seam of an hygienic absorbent article efficiently, without the need to remove scrap and which allows refastenable side seams to be obtained which are ergonomic, aesthetically pleasing, easily identifiable by the user and such that they do not reduce the wearability of the article. The disclosure also relates to a hygienic absorbent article provided with at least one refastenable side seam. The disclosure also relates to a process and an apparatus for carrying out one or more operations on elastic panels usable for making an hygienic absorbent article provided with at least one refastenable side seam.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAKING ELASTIC PANELS
20230225908 · 2023-07-20 ·

A system for manufacturing elastic strand nonwoven panels including an unwind module, a lamination module and a folding module. Elastic strand material is fed from cores disposed on the unwind module through rollers towards the lamination module, where the elastic strand material is attached to a nonwoven web to form an elastic strand nonwoven web. At the folding module, the elastic strand nonwoven web is folded over itself by operation of plates underneath which the elastic strand nonwoven web is fed under tension.

Method and device for feeding elastic threads in a plant and process for the production of layered composite articles

A method for feeding elastic threads in a process for the production of layered composite articles includes: feeding at least one elastic thread along a path extending from a reel of an elastic thread up to a joining zone with at least one web material. Feeding the elastic thread along the above path includes: giving the elastic thread a first percentage elongation along a first section of the path extending between the reel and a control zone; giving the elastic thread a second percentage elongation along a second section of the path extending between the control zone and the joining zone. The second percentage elongation is greater than the first percentage elongation and a length of the first section is greater than a length of the second section.

Turning device for a production line for hygiene products
11702309 · 2023-07-18 · ·

The invention relates to a turning apparatus for a production plant (2) for sanitary products, in particular adult or baby diapers, the turning apparatus having a drum (12) which rotates about a geometrical drum rotational axis (11), and at least one plate (14) which is spaced apart radially from the drum rotational axis (11) and is coupled to the drum (12), which plate (14) comprises a suction face (15) for the transport of sanitary material pieces (16), which suction face (15) holds the respective sanitary material piece (16) by means of a vacuum during the transport, the plate (14) having a geometrical vertical axis (17) which runs radially with respect to the drum rotational axis (11), the plate (14) receiving the sanitary material piece (16) with a first orientation about the vertical axis (17) in a first transfer region (18), and transporting the sanitary material piece (16) from the first transfer region (18) to a second transfer region (20) along a setpoint transfer path (19) which runs in the circumferential direction around the drum rotational axis (11), the suction face (15) being rotated with the sanitary material piece (16) about the vertical axis (17) during the transport, the plate (14) outputting the sanitary material piece (16) in the second transfer region (20) with a second orientation which is different than the first orientation about the vertical axis (17). It is proposed that, during the receiving and/or outputting, the plate (14) carries out a non-linear compensation movement relative to the drum (12) with a radial movement component.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH REFASTENABLE SIDE SEAMS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING

Absorbent articles and methods of manufacturing absorbent articles are disclosed. A method for forming a plurality of absorbent articles may comprise advancing a first web in a first direction, attaching first and second elastomeric rear side panel materials to first and second side edges of the first web and forming a first chassis width, attaching first and second elastomeric front side panel materials to the first and second side edges of the first web and forming a second chassis width, and severing the first web through the first and second elastomeric front side panel materials and through the first and second elastomeric rear side panel materials to form a plurality of individual absorbent articles, wherein a ratio of the first chassis width to the second chassis width is between about 1.5 and about 3.0.
